Gawd that looks fantastic! Rediculous to think that Gibson covered that top with gold.
Ok, today I received a nice 1957 pokerchip! The lettering is much more intact than my previous pokerchip.
Note: at the bottom right of the photo, you can see the damage to my finish from a previous set of pickup rings.
Which rings did the damage? - edit, never mind, just read above
the poker chip looks great!
That poker chip looks killer Steve! Congrats my friend... !
Thanks, my other one went to someone near and dear to us all here at MLP.
Your tailpiece is the best ive seen.
Most repro got to deep screw slots.
And the THP take the "hand made " Way to far.
I like that the hump on your vintage is narrow and not as close to the screw head.
Thanks, yes it's an original tailpiece from the late 50s-early 60s.
Hey LE, your band is really GOOD! Great vocals too!
Thanks MB, I appreciate it!
My please LE. Thanks for sharing that!
First I'm hearing of OTP rings doing any finish damage.
Wow, that top grain looks nearly identical to my R0 also made in 2005... Wonder if Gibson had a big batch of top wood all from the same tree or something? I've had mine modded too... no pics online of it yet, but I'll post here shortly.
Bartlett pickup rings arrived yesterday! Very nice!
Very nice is a massive understatement!!!
R8 VOS 2012.
Removed the pickup covers and the sticky paint of the neck. Feels awesome and sounds a little brighter.
