    Hello good people..
Another year ticks by and our sixth annual Bridport meet looms on the horizon in a few months.

I notice WholelottaIzzy has started a thread and that will be great to have a general chat, ask questions etc etc, but this is an official thread which we would be grateful to keep fairly clear for now and kindly ask the MODS if they could put up as a sticky..

I spoke to Toby our resident drummer and the guys are booked for the event which this year will be Friday the 15th and Saturday he 16th of May.

So initially could all those wishing to attend please post in this thread so we can get ideas of the number of attendees..
This is very important as obviously musicians have to be paid and set lists drawn out , so if you could just pop in a brief post with a 'Yes, I'll be attending' we would be most grateful..
Just numbers of attendees first please..

Cookie usually deals with accommodation and I will be speaking to him soon.
Same with songs and keys etc..
I'll deal with that as we go..

    Just attendees so far please..

Many thanks for your help and here's to another great year...

    Phil..

Phil, you forgot to say where it will be, for those that do not know and want to go....

(you see, what would you do without a woman's input lol)

    It is here:

    Address:

    The Crown Inn
59 West Bay Road, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 4AX

The link in my signature is from last years meet/jam for more info on it.

Members come from all over the UK and other parts of Europe, even the US.
Anyone is welcome and you do not need to play to participate.

Would love to come Phil, but with recent heath issues, not sure if I would be allowed to fly.

I had that thread deleted, Phil as to not step on anyone's toes.

But I will be there again this year. I'll have a word with James and see if he's around.

In the politest way possible, could we please try and make sure it is a bit more organised as far as the set list goes this year? I was told last year if you contributed £10 to the rhythm section, you'd have priority for stage time. I was more than happy to put towards their pay as Toby and Fuzzy did an incredible job, but was a bit disheartened when a number of us didn't get to play all that much compared to others. I will of course contribute to their pay again this year without question as without them, it wouldn't be possible. Again, I don't mean to sound or come across as rude, just pointing out something to try and make it more fun for everyone.

I have since moved to Lyme Regis as well. So if anyone is down this way like last year drop me a line and I'll show you the good pubs!

REALLY looking forward to this year's. I've gotten my head down with my playing and am considerably better than I was six months ago. Plus, I've started guitar lessons a few weeks ago so hopefully I'll be able to hold my own this year.

As I mentioned in OH, I think this year is not going to happen for me either -- but chalk me in for 2016.

    Have guitar, will travel.

Vin is doing some art work for us and I am arranging said artwork to be put onto badges for players at the Meet.

There will be two, one for Friday and one for Saturday.

The badges will be a tenner each. The money goes towards paying Toby and Fuzzy, who do such a damn fine job and play anything thrown at them.

Without those two chaps we would be in a fine mess..

That way we can ensure, those who have paid, play.... :naughty:

The £10.00 was not to give you any 'priority' it was for the right to actually get up and play at all.

There are lot of people to accommodate, you have to make your presence known early to stand a chance.

The bass player and drummer are Pro's, we have to guarantee them a fixed sum and if we do not raise that, it comes out of our pockets...:naughty:

Badges will be available from Phil, Cookie and me, to show that you have paid and are eligible to play.

Will have to reply to everyone tomorrow as I'm in bed on my phone now..
Nims is spot on re the badges as last year a whole crowd of people we hadn't got on the playing list managed to get up and play which took up valuable time in which our members could have been on stage..It's unfortunate that it all happened so quickly and before anyone actually realised they weren't actually with us..Of course they didn't contribute anything towards the resident band and were gone by the time we collected for the resident musos.
Unfortunately these things happen and when an event like ours becomes known and popular it attracts all types of characters who just want to stroll in with a guitar and play.
Of course the general public are welcome to come in and listen, but we have to give playing priority to our members.
Nims idea of a badge is a great idea..A sort of backstage pass really.

Thanks for all your input Nims..

Also thanks Harms.. Yes a woman's touch is definitely what we need at events like these .:laugh2:
I hope you can make it this year if you are coming over to see your relations.
I'll return tomorrow when I don't have a cat sitting on my head and a pug snoring up against my back.
    Night all..

Thanks for clearing that up for me. But I was definitely told it would prioritise playing. Oh well. It was still fun. The badge idea sounds like it should work well.

I'm waiting on Alex's GCSE dates, which will before and after the meet days. As soon as I know I'll confirm one way or another.
