What about this one then - Antoria Telestar "Telecaster" style | eBay Item - 150993438732?
Does anyone make or did anyone make at one point a gibson 24.75 scale mij tele?
Any of the knowledgeable folk here able to tell from the pics whether it's MiJ then (if it makes any difference I'm looking for a well used/beater that I can learn the basics of maintenance on and re-finish at a later date)? Ta.
ask him what the sticker on the neck says
cool story bro
My Japanese telecaster sporting the body from a Fenandez Custom.
I swapped as the original body was so heavy - its a 1983 JV reissue.
Now light and very resonant.
My number 1
just wanted to rant about how ****ing awesome teles are... been playing my butched te-85 today- tweaked the action and and it absolutely smoked... have not played with such good tone in years and it was all from the way it fought back and made me play!!!
as much as I love teles, why is this in the other les paul section?
Well this place has become a MIJ of sorts area I suppose.
So anything MIJ seems to be kosher.
A question to all you fine folk who own vintage Tokai TE80's or 85's. I'm curious about the neck shape and if there's any variance or if they all came with a V, and how beefy they are? I have this pearl of wisdom already from Udo from the Centerfold thread, cheers mate.
See the red one on the bay?
Tokai Breezy Sound TE80 CAR Block Logo 1983 | eBay
Yeah, saw that one. Kinda got my heart set on a blonde or natural three saddle 7okai logo one though.
I'm in no rush J, I'm thinking more around tax time.
Just doing a bit of research atm.
I believe mine is a large soft v as well....amazing neck...never gonna sell!
Yup, that's the one!
Beautiful, thanks for the info.
hmm let me have a feel...
its closest to a thin(ish) 60s les paul profile but with wider shoulders.
very comfortable size, can feel chunky at times probably cosve the width.
EDIT: it a round C or D... no V content on this te85
lovely tele! just curious... did that come with the 3 saddle bridge or did you put that on?
When I bought it, it had the 3 saddle brass bridge...just like in the 1981 Tokai catalogue. So I'm guessing it's original...looks the part. Intonation is spot on
My 78 TE-85 whatever it is prototype is a large soft v but since I suspect it was a pre-production they didn't have anything set in stone neck wise among other things.
Anyone interested in trading me RW boarded Fender Japan neck, for the maple capped neck from my '52 MIJ Fender tele? Fairly deep V neck on mine that I love, but I just cannot get on with maple boards..
Nav Telespo is going through a redux...
Logo made and 2 coats of aged lacquer applied & dried.
Logo applied and a coat over top
Lacquer being stripped
Stripped ready for a respray...once I decide on a colour but I was thinking tung oil 3 coats then a light amber with a mellow tea burst however I am now doing a seafoam Daphne trans instead.
That is AFTER I fill that P90 route and put her back to 60's glory.
Black grained, sanded smooth, and P90 route filled.
2 coats of clear lacquer were added after this.
Once cured I will sand smooth and then add the trans Daphne/Seafoam Green finish.
Test spray to check for translucency and colour...this will be stripped off easily as the grain needs smoothing 1st.
Udo, what happened to this after?
