I need a wraptail P90 slab hog in my life. Now how to come up with the money lol.
Looking for a good Bacchus/Tokai/Crews etc double cut les Paul special ideally with wraparound bridge. Please message me if you’re thinking of selling. Cheers
Rarely see any wrap around Crews used and Bacchus classics seem pretty scarce these days on YJ.
I was looking at the LSS single cut Tokais and they all look very similar but there are different numbers/models. I assume the higher the LSS model #, the better the specs but none of them seem like they are real nitro. There are Chinese made Tokais as well to further confuse it.
Here's a 54' wraptail with humbuckers, like Jeff Becks, by Crews: https://www.digimart.net/cat01/shop4859/DS04174303/
Most of the Crews with wraptails I've seen have HBs, but they seem to sell on the lower end of the used market which is great if you're looking for one.
RE: The Tokais, the Chinese made ones will have a 3-screw TRC. I love the Tokai LSSs too but see if you can score one of the Edwards E-LS models with the LT (lacquer-taste, poly base, lacquer top) finishing; those things look pretty good and I personally love the DC specials. Comes with Seymour Duncans too. There's a whole bunch of single cuts and double cuts on digimart right now in a variety of colours that are a bit more affordable than the Tokais: https://www.digimart.net/search?category12Id=1&keywordAnd=edwards+e-ls&x=0&y=0
They did have the p-90 wraptails but they sold quickly. I want one!
Are those Laquer over poly?
Yes, that is right.
I have a recent high end Japanese made Tokai LSS with factory one piece body, nitro, wrap-tail, P90s etc (LSS-GP). I could be convinced of letting go of...
Everything is sold. I tried to edit the original post but couldn't for some reason.
Anyone got a set of Dry Z pickups to sell?
Y'know, Double Tricks+'50s wiring gets a sweet tone, in the Z vicinity
I've got to change the wiring in mine. I'm noticing the two pickups are very differently voiced to each other and are hard to match, and not just in terms of height... I've tried that. Did you notice that before changing to 50s wiring? One thing I've always liked about PAF-style pickups is that they're normally very very close to each other.
Would love to see some photos
@bluesriffdev Yeah, the '50s wiring makes the tone controls more useable, I used to max them to avoid muddiness. Better middle position tweakability, and more lively, articulate sounds in any switch posi. A few others have played my 850 since I did it, all liked the oldschool sound
I have a Bacchus Classic series ALL GOLD LP with p90s, standard abr bridge and light factory relic that I might consider selling if anyone is looking for something extremely rare and awesome...its historically correct as Gibson made this excact model in 1956. Huge neck, plays like butter and sounds even better - great snap and woodiness and really nice pickups. I just dont grab it that often as it is in competion with a couple of Momose, Crews ktr std...which is a shame! I believe its a one off...never seen another one and it might be the only mij all gold lp ever???
Tokai and Greco had a few all-goldies, but they are rare. For a fat neck MIJ all golide, yours may be one of a very small group.
sorry don't have any other than this atm
