Apparently faster didn't win the war, old son, or the lines on the map over there would look a bit different. :hmm:

    Er, not the point...

If you want to get into the technicalities of combat, I will do so. But for now, I'll leave it...

    For getting away you mean..
An ME110 would never get into a tight knife fight with a Hurricane. The Hurricane would out turn it any day..
Their tactics with a Hurricane or a Spit was to come down from on high in a dive.. Hope they hit something on the way and piss off double quuick time. :laugh2:

We all know what happened to you when you got caught short by my squadron. You crapped your Scouse pants.

    Brilliant!

Notice how the Spit pilot keeps his position slightly lower than that of the 110? No angle for the rear gunner to take a shot at him. Poor bastards.

Well, he's not teutonic (unless you call all of central Europe teutonic) and I don't think he's an eager ally or supporter...:fingersx:

Quite a lot of them did fly in the last 10 months of the war.

And I learned a lot from this guy:

Wolfgang Schenck. Led the unit 'Kommando Schenck' which worked up the 262 to combat status as a fighter-bomber. Last 'Inspector of Jet Fighters' of the Third Reich. Flew on every front from 1939 onwards.

Pretty sure that is a Bf 110 G-2 day fighter, as it has the 21 cm. rocket tubes under each wing, for use against USAAF daytime bombers. With that configuration, the best chance they had, being heavily laden, was to get at the bombers and get away fast, as the escorting US fighters had way too much speed and manoeuvrability for them. I'd say this was mid-to-late war footage, and almost certainly not a Spitfire attacking. P-47 or P-51 most likely.
