Relaxing with a hot cup of tea now and a pug fast asleep on my lap...:laugh2:

Thankfully nothing's broken. "Only" a contusion (bad enough though it is....)

Quoted for truth - having fun practicing is the most important factor in learning guitar.

What is it with people in retail these days..
Sylvia wants to order something from Amazon but on the last couple of occasions the silly buggers have left the parcel at the wrong address.
Anyway I thought I'd phone them to sort it out..Waste of f*cking time...
They can't seem to comprehend that although they have the correct delivery address the courier leaves it at the wrong address..
Ten minutes later..No, no you have the correct address but your courier isn't bothering to read the house names...
Can you tell your courier or can I make a note for them on the order?
    Now they are completely baffled.
F*ck me, where do they get these people from? I can get kids at a primary school to understand that...
Jesus! It's done my head in and I've phoned them twice...
Well, I suppose that's what you get when big cooperate pays sh*t wages.

It's only the academies that are finished for the term.
I surmise Germany is like America where instrumental tuition can only be had out of school hours in places like music stores etc unlike the UK where it's part of the curriculum and specialist registered tutors with police clearance can use college and academy practise rooms where students are timetabled as they would be for any other core subject.

Why aren't you calling the delivery service? They're the ones responsible for accurate delivery, if the address they're given is correct.

It's sad that we've stripped our schools of so much pedagogy in the arts. I started playing guitar by taking two years of guitar class in 8th and 9th grades (learning this mind-numbing stuff like "Aura Lee" and "Georgie Girl" -- teach me some Judas Priest already, damn it!)

Most schools have no music programs outside of the school's band, and many don't even have that.

The visual arts have also been stripped, though not to the same extent.

But I guarantee you, we field the best high-school football teams in the world.

Well I would if I actually knew who the buggers were...:laugh2:

Amazon are obviously either reluctant to divulge that information or as I suspect use any old courier that are handy in the vicinity which is probably the case..
In other words their customer service dept hasn't got a bloody clue...

That's weird. Amazon doesn't tell you who it is when you check out?

Yeah, luckily we still hold things like private musical tuition as a an important part of the curriculum and virtually every instrument is covered.
No Aura Lee here and in fact I don't even encourage grades unless the pupil is taking exams in music.
Today I've been over The fairytale of New York with two pupils who want to perform it at Christmas..Slades Merry Xmas...John Lennon's Happy Xmas war is over...AC/DC's Thunderstruck...B.B kings The Thrill has gone..Adel...and lots of other stuff including chord construction, modes and soloing.
All according to what level they are at, age and their taste in music.

Wish we had the same system like you have here in Germany - plus you get paid well as I've heard....

Not here they don't, simply probably because there are just so many courier services and when you do phone their customer support it goes via Bombay and half the time I can't understand a bloody word they are talking about .....:laugh2:
In fact Lauren just phoned to say she has just received two printed mugs she ordered for a friend from a company who in fairness wrapped them very well with fragile stickers all over the package and on opening it found one smashed and that's via the Postal service..
These buggers just chuck things around in their trucks, so now she has to phone the company and get a replacement..

The pay is excellent as you are on a qualified teachers pay scale.
But it is a bit of a closed shop and not just anybody can wander into a school and offer their services.
Luckily for Lauren dad had a few contacts and I got her in and now she's proved herself she's basically set up for life with regard open doors in that dept.
