Well spotted. The whites were the last bit & took half an hour. He wanted to finish by 5pm but kept going as only tattooists do & loved my discomfort...& he's an old mate since way back & owed me a good few painful moments fer my shenanigans in the past. :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

    G'day all.

Spent almost 2 hours with a VA psychiatrist. He said the bureaucrats will let me know their decision in like three months, but thinks that what he wrote will get it through. Will be glad when this is settled, but looks like I will get the care I need. He did think my fears of losing it are a pretty good indication that I won't let it happen anytime soon. Hope he is right.

I blew a brake line yesterday so I have been adding fluid till I figure how to deal with it. Could of waited till next week as I am on vacation and could deal with it without having to figure how to get anywhere.

    Per, enjoy that looks sweet.
    Looking good Sid.

Best go see if I can find the leak before I lose daylight.

    Later k nights.

Even though for some inexplicable reason will take three months. Must take that amount of time to take their fingers out their asses.

    No worries Sid.

Found the break in the brake line will have to replace about 2 feet. Hopefully O'rielly's will have the specialty tools to rent that I will need to flare the connecting ends and bend it. Looks doable though.

Figure it's time for a progress pic on the one I am painting for Em.

I hope she will be pleased with it. Her birthday is the 15th of this month so I have 11ish working days to finish it. If I do not make it there is Christmas though.

Hope all had a good day.

Pardon my ignorance but who made that wonderful looking guitar?

The Journal of Irreproducible Results (a bunch of scientists lampooning science) had an article about getting electrocuted in a urinal, and the title was
    ...wait for it...
    "A Voiding Shock."

Speaking of electricity, I have been playing a ton of acoustic lately, and while electric can do many wonderful tings that acoustic cannot, I have made the exciting discovery that there are, in fact, things I can do on acoustic that I cannot do on electric.

The typical acoustic's .012s are still a force to be reckoned with, so I could never see strumming away for a whole jamboree, but I can play it with confidence and get some really lovely sounds out of it, whether Travising or flatpicking -- at this point, I don't think I have to feel guilt over being overly dependent on electronics. I mean, for the past 25 years or so, most of my home playing time has been either on my classical or an unamplified electric.

In fact, I think I need to get more familiar with the magic of the electric guitar -- yes, that means PLUGGING THE FUGGER IN.

I am playing an invitational in Santa Cruz later this month.
People much better than me are coming from all over the world to play.
I cannot let anyone think I am wasting their time, so my 30 minutes has to absolutely drive the cement truck over 'em.

(Can ya tell I'm nervous? Maybe it's partly brain damage from 3 years of mom-care?)

ANYWAY, I am way behind on posts AGAIN!

Just know I love you all.

    Your pal,
    Timbecile

That looks great, Charlie! Somehow it reminds me of Cliff McReynolds' paintings, although your work has a warmth and humanity that he never had.

Hi Bobby, lots of posts and I'm on the cellphone, anyway - the guitar? It's a custom from Europe's largest music instrument E-tailer, thomann.de, it's made in China reportedly at a Epiphone factory under OEM but it's hard to trace no serial number no nothing. It's marked under the "Harley Benton" moniker which sounds cheesy enough, I'm glad about the big "B" on the headstock. Model is called "Custom Line Superior-E VS". But these are very well made at rock bottom prices, this one costs 222€. A Gibson Hummingbird with similar construction can cost up to 5000$ depending on model. The product page is linked in my sig.

Bought a few guitars, gadgets from our German friends Thomann. Do you get the catalogue posted through the door every few months? Haven't had one in ages.

Got my electric double bass from there too.
