YES! That is it exactly!!!
I still wish I knew who I was really talking to, but that is a great story! Quite a journey for one guitar...
So far we've had 2 conversions in here.... Myself and Pier both updated our avatars...
Talk to Scott and see what you 2 decide and hopefully we'll see another updated Avatar!
Anybody know what this is?
Mine is an '80 "Jimmy Wallace" '58RI that was my 1st LP. I bought it in '84 for $500.
To me, it's also one of the most beautiful LP's I've ever encountered.
I've yet to play a better feeling and sounding LP. It will be passed on to my guitar playing son and hopefully stay in the family for many, many years.
the one in my avatar is most likely a '59 les paul though people argue about the year since the serial number was sanded off.
Damn looks like some kinda strat..My old one had my R8
les paul in my avatar?
let me class this thread up with my 335 block inlay custom shop.

Mine is a 2011 Custom shop R9 originally owned (and toured) by Steve Miller.
Nice one, Cherry!
Fabulous pics and great stories to go with them.

That is really a roller coaster story, if ever there was one! I don't believe that many other members could tell that tale. And, here I complained after an amateur tech put a couple of nicks in my Classic in my avatar. You have oddles of patience, I'd say.
Stunning! What kind of pickups are in that?
I tend to take in strays, like this 2001 Junior I bought online from a teenager who had a rock band and who dropped it a time or two. Had no pg, bent tuners, buzzy electronics, "pirate" knobs, all of which I replaced. Then there was the chip, which I left alone. I call this "Chip."
Some of you might have seen it already in my NGD post this week but mine is 2017 Faded Worn Cherry I bought in september.
I've added a poker chip and some pickup covers (under the supervision of DarrellV )
Awww shucks! It wernt nuthin!
LOL It's a 77 I've had for 10 or so years. I put a 383 stroker in it and I love the old gal. she isn't perfect but she's mine
I also have a 1998 c5 vette with a 6 speed but my 77 is the queen of them
Sweet! Nothing like cars and guitars!
Of course you could always post up a few pics for us to drool over...
Fair is fair, after all...
Thanks for playing!
