Was talking today at the local shop about the weight of Les Pauls.

Got me thinking who here has the heaviest LP? Or came across one that is a contender?

    Jeebus.
    15 freaking pounds?!?
Even if you don't have a bad back/neck/shoulder, you probably would before long.
    I bet it's a beast though.

Richs left shoulder is about 4"-5" lower than his right one.

My 2000 Standard is close to 11 lbs. Any time my shoulder is aching (not uncommon), gets real uncomfortable in a hurry. BUT, it can beat up all my others guitars without trying hard.

I had a white Custom that was 14 or so. Sole reason I sold it. I have a few that are 11 and there about but that one felt like a glob of cement. I have a late 70s Tele that is as heavy as any LP I've got.

I’m having a marble LP with a 1” thick lead cap built by the Custom Shop right now as a matter of fact.

I weighed my 339 and it is at 7.6lbs with the b3 bigsby.

Loved my Norlin, heavy though it was.

Never took it onto a scale, but I'd be willing to bet 9.5lbs minimum.

Generally late 70s and 80s Les Pauls are by far heaviest.

I have a 77 Deluxe that is pretty heavy. I have 5 LPs--2 Norlins (73 and 77) and the rest Historics (07,08,10)-- and the latter are def lighter...but they aren't really light.

I had a 79 Strat that weighed 13 lbs. Beautiful Capri Orange, but impossible to play standing up for more than one song.

I never weighed the one I had but when it's in a 25 plus pound Anvil flight case who cares.
