Are you sure you don't use some kind of fuzz here? Or it's some kind of mic distortion??
Anyways the sound is cool :cool2:

thanks for the kinds words. that was actually a demo video asked of me by Fractal that happened to be finished up about the time I noticed this thread.

I did not know that you got into T-Tops (outside of the Post72 bridge) or 70s Super Ds.

the Jacksons were selected more for logistical reasons. there are several other guitars not shown in the video, with lots of double hum potential. many wood and scale combinations.

the neck hum in your Post72 set is really nice and seems to be cleaner and have more chime than others I've tried. it takes a clean amp setting fine and can still translate very well when going through very high gain.

one of my hurdles when trying any "PAF" or "vintage" style humbuckers from a mass-produced source is that they go for more beef with less subtlety and less harmonic complexity. I'm on the lookout for something with a sweet and airy brightness that retains clarity and definition when the volume is rolled down, with the versatility to cover bite and quack and be flutey and woody.

Yeah, that vid was shot using a boss SD-1 overdrive and an OC-2 octave pedal.

Ok - I'm thinking we should close the entry period on September 26th, midnight Mountain Time.

That will be a full 2 months of accepting entries. I think that's more than a fair amount of time for anyone to get their video recorded and posted. Sound fair to you guys?

Thanks aging to all who have entered so far! This is lots of fun!

I'm having the damnedest time capturing any audio for this guitar

I'd love to get a set of your A3 P90s for this DC build, but sadly wont be anywhere close to a working guitar in time to enter and I'm fortunate enough to have enough pickups for my other guitars thanks to your bench sale. Good luck to those who entered, and thanks James for doing awesome stuff like this! :thumb:

Beautiful fretboard. I'm sure it's going to be a real nice guitar. You can't wrap that up in 17 days for a test fit and demo video before finishing? ;) In all seriousness, reach out when you're ready and I'll be glad to hook up a repeat customer like yourself.

I'll try to get a video in before the deadline. Your vids on the 66 CBS Tele set have me thinking of entering my Tele.

Thanks, Rod! You should. I just uploaded two more demos of of that 1966 Tele set through the Blackface / Jensen. I have one more of the Fender amp demos to render, than I'll start posting demos of the 1966 Tele set through the Marshall / Celestions. (After that, Ampeg demo, then onto editing video for the 1959 Tele set demos).

No talent required to enter. If you have an electric guitar, an amp, and you or someone you know has a camera phone, you qualify! Still a little time to enter....

Thanks, man! Those in the last post were taken with 3 different cameras. I think about half of them were just an iPhone 4!! It's frustrating to get a good photo out of an iPhone but it can be done.

Here's a Vintage Pulls Series VLO set I just. These were photo-match-aged to some pictures of the Joe Skinner Burst that a client emailed me (I include photo-match-aging with all Vintage Pulls Series pickups, if desired).

Can you tell which 3 photos were shot with a brand new $1k+ Nikon on a tripod with lighting and which ones were shot with my iPhone 6 in my hand on a cloudy day with no lights?
