I think you're right. The lower left bit of the G appears to have worn off. Presumably that decal is usually oversprayed so it sits under the clear coat.

I expected it to go for somewhere between £1000 - £1200 tops. Surprised at the final selling price, for sure.

I've seen a couple sell in that region, but only ones with really super nice flametops.

The final selling price is probably due to the ("quite expensive" according to the seller) upgrades and the re-finished top.

Not exactly "Corsa" upgrades by the way:
    - the original "modern" wiring is still there (50's wiring on Larry's LCPGs,)
    - the cheap thin wire from toggle switch to jack & pots has not been replaced with vintage style braided wire.

I won't argue about the replacement PUs, bridge, tailpiece, PU rings, plastics and pots (not "Corsa" upgrades but all similar quality upgrades,) but I'll point out that these Gibson Bumblebee caps are not "true" Bumblebee PIO caps (indeed they are Wesco 32 PL Polyprop. caps. - see here: http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/historic-gibson-faux-bumblebee-caps.118027/)

For "true" Bumblebee PIO caps, get the Luxe brand ones, they are the real deal (and if the Bumblebee look is not important, the similar and much cheaper Russian K40Y-9 & K40P-2 PIO caps are awesome.)

Yeah, it's been very quiet around here.

I went and bought a Les Paul Special with a gloss finish  and it's awesome!

Congrats! Any pics & details available?

I really enjoy my LP Faded DC and the sound of its P90's. Although they're not as versatile, they have a rustic crunch that humbuckers don't have. I stand a few feet away from the amps though, to avoid the hum inherent to their design, and they're yummy.

Mine's from a 2016 Limited Proprietary Japan run. I saw it in a Black Friday deal and the price was too good to pass up on. I'd been looking out for a faded similar to yours, but the right one never came along.

I posted a pic in an old thread here.

I can now better appreciate why some people are into P90s and wraptails.

Which makes me wonder what P90s will sound like in a faded...my '05 is still stock :hmm:
