I voted for the TH, because I have an Ice Tea R9 and don't want there to be any more of those floating around out there. I'd really prefer it if mine were the only one. Then it would be more valuable and I could sell it for more than what I paid too. So, definitely get the TH.

Aha, you are correct. I first looked at the pics with my phone. I gotta say TH all the way. The color kinda looks similar to mine in my profile pic. Who are you buying this from, if I may ask?

I wouldn't give the True Historic extra points simply because of its name. I've now played three and I'm telling you they are no better or worse than what came before or after. In my opinion you should get the one you like the looks of best and ignore the other variables.

Thank you for this advice. I think some people give too much extra credit to TH. Maybe TH are "better" than Std. Maybe it depends on the guitar. Maybe it's only a personal impression from people to people...

I have my plan now: I wait for the Standard to arrive and test it.
1- If I don't like her, I send her back and order the TH.
2- If I really love her, I keep her and forget about the TH.
3- If I like her but think I could find a better choice... I'm screwed! Wait, no. If I just 'like' her, I send her back too, because I'm looking for "my" greatest guitar so far.
4- If the Standard is sent back, I order the TH.
5- If the TH is THE guitar: fine! If not I send her back too an seek for another.

The TH color reminds me the BOTB page 74...

    General impression.

There were a lot of spectacular and unique looking post 2012 reissues posted on the forum and those have set a high bar in terms of looks.

Too true but man, a lot of them have been through the classifieds not long after.

Maybe they were not that great or maybe the GAS thing just keeps eating away at people & they are more interesting in flipping & getting another than playing music.

GAS is a funny thing, certainly screwed me around for a few years. Really happy that train has left the station.

    :cheers2:

Bull shit. It is relative to the initial purchase price.

That's not very helpful if you don't say why...

Hard to find a real answer from other people. It's all in THOSE two guitars you are going to try yourself. Only you can decide, based on your own personal preference and those two specific guitars.

The "TH is better than SH" argument it's bubbles, if the point is which plays better.

I agree. This is why I will try to get them both by the end of the week and send back the one I like least. I tried to avoid this situation because I have to pay for both and then wait to get refunded for one of them, but it would be crazy to act different for such guitars.
So, the Std IT VOS is arriving today and I just ordered the TH that should be by my place on Thursday. On Friday, I will then have to ship one back.

    Gonna be tricky man. :)

I guess that you'll be picking the one you like more, out of the box...which doesn't mean you are picking the best one, imho, since it's really rare that a guitar is perfectly setup, the way you want, out of the box. Probably gonna be mostly a visual factor. Usually I need, at least, one week to understand a guitar...and also discover the room for improvement I have with that guitar. I wouldn't never rush this experience.

    Good luck! :)
