I just built and finished my first Tele. Not the first I've owned, just the first Tele I've built and my first spray gun and nitro finishing project. Also, my first "blend circuit" Tele and I'm digging that.

Everything, down to the guitar cords, in those last two pix was made by me or other MLP'ers! ...ok, not the pick.

Had a MIM sunburst one for years but really couldn't get over the veneered top. Finally got around to changing out the body for an alder Allparts one and man... yeah I see why so many love these things. This one has BG Pups, a Fishman Powerbridge/Powerchip combo as well as a 4-way switch.

Does anyone have a 4-way switch in their Tele ?
I just ordered one, hoping it'll sound great with the CS Texas Specials.

Yes I had a 4 way on the Blue Telecaster shown on the previous page when it was fitted with a pair of Fender Original Vintage pickups. I found I really liked the series option. I moved the pickups to my 50s Classic Tele, so I might have to rewire it for a 4 way too at some point.

Three of mine have a 4 way, one with CSTSs. Love that setup.

The Nocaster above doesn't have a 4 way but the switch does stay put on the in-between.

Just put the 4-way switch into my Squier CVC-Partscaster.
I guess I was hoping for a little more output, but it does sound pretty good.
Bridge pickup with the tone rolled a little back (so it doesn't cut your head off) still rules though.
But its a nice option, hum-reduced with the RWRP pickups as well.

EDIT: I used this diagram, there is an extra bridge that makes the 4th position more silent.

Just finished a companion 1959 build for the Nocaster above. Two distinctly different sounding Teles.

Am I a terrible person for immediately also wanting an early CBS 1966 Tele? I really like those gray bottom, staggered pole, thin magnet, PE wire machine wound coils that were being made around that time.

I agree, Tele's can be real beasts.....
Here is my modded Chris Shiflett Telecaster with Duncan JB/59, CTS 500k pots, PIO caps, Hipshot bridge, and Schaller locking tuners.
    Beast mode on!!!

I put a 1971 Gibson mini-humbucker in the neck of my Tele. Man, that neck position sounds good. And of course the bridge kills it. I agree, a Tele and a Les Paul is a perfect match.

I think the early mini humbuckers are one of the rare humbuckers that can perfectly compliment a spanky Tele bridge pickup. Especially through the same two controls.

Looks pretty damn awesome to me, but then again I might be biased.

Mine is a modded Squier though, but still a fantastic guitar
