    Very, VERY nice!
I really like that guitar, the flourishes are beautiful, not over done, and suit the guitar extremely well.
    Is it yours?
Can you tell us about it?

    Thanks!
Yep, it's mine. It is the first guitar I bought/traded for that was active. It has the EMG gold labels. What caught my attention when I bud showed it to me was how dense the body and neck are. Acoustically it is very loud and plugged in it is magic. Up to about 7 on the volume it sounds very vintage but dime it and the steroids kick in. Hot as hell but still Tele-like tone....

As far as Teles and Strats, I prefer the rare dense body/neck combination over the light weight. Not all dense ones resonate well but when you find one that the neck and body are very similar characteristically and dense, to me it has much bigger nads....

Pretty much all my buds that have played it were amazed and wanted to buy it right then.... I've had several "just tell me how much you want" remarks... Nawt. Ain't for sale. Best Tele I've ever played in my almost 60 yrs...

An old retired blues guy in the area has a Strat with dense as hell neck/body that I did some action work on. I've tried to buy that Strat for three years or so from him...and the floor of my guitar room has several Strat cases among all the others so I ain't Strat poor by a long shot... Still want THAT Strat... Biggest natural nads I've heard on a Strat... I use wide leather and don't strap low, I don't care how much a guitar weighs...

Man, I liked it on looks alone, now you go and tell me how much a player it is?
    Curse you.

I have the Gilmour EMG pickguard installed in one of my Strats. It's the only active pickup guitar I have, but I freaking love it.
    I'm now a believer.

I'm sure I'd be pretty far back in the line, but if you're ever thinking of selling... :D

Man, you guys are Tele pros with these guitars. Very unique examples of some very refined Tele owners/players.

I was NEVER a fan of active guitars after playing several active humbucker guitars years back... I just wrote them off my list. This Tele surprised hell out of me. It sounds incredible...

    Really surprised me.........
It is possible that active technology has improved on a grand scale.
It is possible that being tele layout that the active 'thud' attact that turned me off to them (including super hot regular humbuckers) is not there in active tele pickups...
It is also possible I'm nuts...

Whatever possibility took hold, me likey long time....

    Thanks...but I'll never sell it...and yes, it is a long line... ;)

That is the exact Telecaster I just bought a few months back...the white one pictured here. So much more impressive in person, too. She is now in open G tuning or "Keef" tuning, if you will.

Yes, I agree: if you don't have a Telecaster, you need to get a Telecaster.
Seriously, right now. Stop reading this and GO!

I have a lot of guitars. But of all the models I own, I own Telecasters the most.

Here's is just one of about 8 of them.

    2010 Fender American Special Sunburst.

The bridge pickup is a Klein Epic 52. Seriously, if you haven't, try the Epic 52 from Klein. It is amazing. It has midrange to go with the twang and sounds very fat and beefy. I love it. The neck pickup is a DiMarzio minihumbucker but I will be trying Klein's own minihumbucker in it soon.

I bought my first Tele about 15 years ago, just a cheap Affinity one to take travelling with me at work. I always liked the simplicity of it and more recently bought a more expensive model used. I always wondered why the older Tele didn't feel like my Strat to play, but with the help of the internet I discovered things like fingerboard radius and other specs. The second Tele has a 7.25" radius neck and 'vintage' frets (narrow and low, like my Strat and how I like them).

    The first Tele:

The newer Tele, white blonde 50s Classic in nitro:

Since there didn't seem much point having two similar Teles, I modified the older one (soon to get a Nitro refinish in Surf Green):

Not really, just did a bit of careful measuring and had to drill extra holes. There are some holes left to fill, but I plan to respray it anyway. This was before I changed the pick up to the 'Lil '59:
