There's some old dude living in the outback with mad DNA skills making this stuff. Splicing genes and releasing craziness.

I just spoke to a friend in Sydney about this and she says this is very real and that she has been attacked multiple times. She said this time of year they are particularly nasty. Strange place that Oz.

When I was 11 years old, a humming bird attacked. I'm pretty sure he wasn't after me. This was during the day. We were riding skateboards in my friend's backyard. They had a large redwood bin and the lid was up. It was a good place to sit so I sat. The bird missed my head by inches and hit the lid on full dive. Poor bird. Dead. Says, I. Bent beak and no movement. Me, being saddened, decided to take the bird home for a burial. I cupped the bird in my hands and walked the few houses up. Guess what? The bird woke up it my hands. I let it go bent beak and all. It made very happy.

Yep, our reporters on the ground can confirm they see many cyclists covered in cable ties. What is it about cyclists? Who knows? We have magpies in Britain. Small little fluffy things that you generally see a few times a year and wouldn't hurt a fly. Look at his wittle face:

Australian magpies on the other hand are huge (at least double the size of UK ones), they're everywhere, they look like they have rabies, and they come in packs of 5 or 10. Vicious bastards:

They do get a bit toey this time of the year because they have young in their nest and you might have breached their exclusion zone! If they are swooping I just hold a stick so it protrudes above my head and they don't make contact then. No biggie, a few more metres and you're out of their zone.

I think they are a lovely iconic Australian bird and right at the moment am lamenting the fact that we don't seem to have any on our property. Must be the drop Bears scaring them off, or Joe's cat! Bloody cat! Bloody Joe!

Swooping magpies, how cute. Murica got something for them, our crows would cut that ass.
