Standard vs. Short Spacing PAF

    I'm wondering if the theory is that the lines of magnetic force follow the outline of the screw head, meaning there would be a small divot in the flux capacitance across the slot. Like a V shaped divot in the curve across the screw head?

    But then again, you ARE talking about a company that uses its bridge mounted string mute screws for strap pins too....

    They kinda do work strange like that...

    Magnetic flux is denser at intersecting surfaces and where the material comes to a point. There is a solid foundation to this theory ...but in real life... it's pointless. If twisting the screw until it sounds best to you is what sounds best to you, the rest doesn't matter unless your string is getting caught in the slot.

    Conical magnetic pole pieces would be extremely annoying for setups. :laugh2:

    ...probably fantastic for hex pickups for MIDI and such, though. :hmm:

    Yup, I can picture pinching them up with diagonal cutters or the like.... not pretty!
