So let me get this straight. They have a new LP model, then a strat and now a tele. So in other words they have run out of their own designs.

and they have all of their Youtubers posting vids on the why the new Mayer PRS is not a strat look alike. As if 7.25 radius, alder body, 3 single coil strat config, etc etc has never been seen. May be a great guitar but a copy is a copy, just like a Suhr, or Anderson or G&L is a copy. I like a lot of PRSs but come on.....you can't fool mother nature

A G&L is a copy? It was Leo's second company.

Not in my book but...he sold the strat design and all that goes with it to someone else. He profited from the sale of his work. Actually it was his 3rd company after Music man and 2nd copy.

    Again..not in my book.....but.....

I've seen exactly one PRS that I wish I'd bought: a discontinued PRS SE Santana double-cut with P-90s.

    Fair enough.

To me it was his design, so he can't copy himself :)

I'm biased though as I own a Legacy, and chose it over a Fender.

Actually, I really dig the reverse PRS headstock on the Mayer.....too bad Heritage couldn't come up with something close to that. I'd be very interested to compare a Strat heads up with that PRS Mayer.

G&L is no more a copy than Heritage is a Gibson copy.

It's all pointless minutiae as to whom was copying who. Just buy what you like, and play the damn things.

But these PRSs are fugly with their unintegrated hybrid design, IMHO.
