Smooth. I found myself in a canoe, easin' on down the river, drinking a happy beer.
That's badass, River. Killer guitar tone.
No, it sounds quite frontwards.
Does this mean you'll lay me a bass track for "Goin' To Mexico"? That'd blow my skirt right up.
Here's an a capella practice session the likes of which Riverette has to put up with on a daily basis, warts and all. Bless her heart.
I really hope soundcloud catches on with the non musicians on a large scale. Its a great platform with much better audio quality then you get out of a youtube video
Some cool stuff here!
Lo-Fi. I love it, ... man after my own heart.
I'd be honored sir. Give me a couple days.
Thank you Jobby Job! It's an unfinished work, and one that may well never be finished, but maybe the most personal work I've ever done. I need to record more...it get's my juices flowin'. Any kind words are appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it.
One thing I love about River's stuff is that he has an ear for tone that is just wonderful, and I don't think it's in his recording at all, but rather, in his head. Whether he's using his Rude Mood or Greta or that other Fender that's like eight hundred fifty-four pounds, he's always got this singing sustain, and I think he's gettin' that from his head.
You need to finish that gem, man. I can hear some acoustic slide on it, myself. Nothing obtrusive, but more little double-stops sliding into place on the changes.
Thump,...thump thump thump,....
It's in his HAT!!
After a year of stories, jokes, and opinions it's nice to get to know you fellas through your music for a change.
If you're inspired to add some instrumentals please do! I've had lyrics floating around but the context has changed since starting the song. I'm always down for hearing new spins on my stuff. I'll finish the words someday...just not terribly inspired to now.
I was looking over that post here, and I think I got it wrong. He's hearing it in his head, sure -- but what makes me pretty jealous is that he's got in two years what took me eight or nine to develop, which is that his tone is coming from how he touches his guitar ... in his fingers.
I didn't have that sort of thing happening until I'd been playing four times as long.
It's amazing how tough it is to make a board of guitar players play guitar.
Man I sure do like music threads better than political or religious threads (I know, I know). You guys are really good. There's a lot of talent hiding here. It's finally coming out (thank you Sound cloud and MLP) and I can put a tune next to that name I'm always fighting with (okay THAT was a joke). I can see I'm going to have to step up my game.
I've been having internet connection problems so if i haven't listened to or commented on your tunes, I will. Meanwhile, you other lucky bastards enjoy.
I'd like to think it's in my fingies. But, same difference, right?
The gazillion-pound Fender is a Pro Tube Pro Reverb, which is really a Deluxe Reverb on steroids.
Don't take my word for it. Fender Pro Tube Reverb | Ampwares
If you come across one for under $800, suck it up. You'll be glad you did.
I don't have any way to record right now, but it's real simple, just slide into these shapes from a few frets below them, using only the two notes, whenever first beat of the change rolls around. Just adds some hang-loose flavor to my ears:
Here's one from my old band, Nick Dastardly And The Escape Artists. The song is called, "The Incredible Self Destruction Man" from our album The Circus Is In Town. I played bass in this band, although it's awful hard to hear on my shite computer speakers. Hopefully yours are better.
We recorded this cd ourselves on ADAT at a beach house in the Outer Banks, NC. It was a DIY project, and it sounds that way but it was a good time.
can't play worth shit

I like thisn here that you did Slapshot.
Hahah, I'd actually corrected, or refined, what I'd said, to this about your fingers, because that's right where it is, brotha.
