never have to tune again? hmmm :hmm:

    Evertune Bridge Demonstration - YouTube

"EverTune is a simple concept that keeps a string in tune until it wants to be changed. It is a very exciting development in stringed instrument technology. It is a passive, all mechanical system based on trigonometry and some rudimentary physics. Hence it is a new technology that is actually old school, its main component being a spring set in a clever position."

For Les Pauls: "tune it once and its always ready to play"

Seems needlessly complicated. I don't have problems staying in tune and i bend the shit outta my strings.

it would be ok i guess on a fender but have you seen the size of the lump of metal that takes the place of the stop bar? it also needs to be strung through the body so that means drilling holes through the body of your lp - not gonna happen to mine thats for sure.

anyway i find that by turning the little handle things at the end of the neck i can make my guitar play in tune. :thumb:

And there's a big old rout the size of a Floyd Rose rout in the back of the guitar. It's a hellacious mount just to avoid using the tuner now and then.

Could these "handles" be the fabled grover or klusson or gibson deluxe tuners that ancient guit-fiddles were supplied with!?

    :hmm:

I'll tune my own damn guitar as needed, thank you very much.

EDIT: Id rather NOT drill through my guitar, thank you.

The only neat thing is the action adjustment but you have that on any trem bridge saddle.

So i take that back and officially call this an abomonation.

But, someone is stupid enough to buy it. Saw it on Headline News. ::::facepalm::::

Im more likely to get an ear ring and piece my $ack than to route/drill the living $h!t out of my guitars.

    NO THANKS

If you're going to do that, talk to Jill at Somatic Body Piercings in Long Beach, CA.
Has her masters in $ack piercing, highly professional. Cute. SO cute. I think I've reached my limit, however -- I think she's getting wise. And besides, I can now point due north all by myself.

Drill holes in my baby!? NEVER!
it's a cool concept but I just invested in new
locking tuners that keep the guitar in tune for months
w/o the need to drill holes in my favorite guitar.

they are probably lighter too.

Some of the other videos about it show some really interesting stuff about keeping the intonation correct wherever you play on the neck, something that normal bridges aren't capable of, and I can't wrap my head around how that would work. It's clever technology but the barrier for entry is routing a great big hole out of your guitar, no doubt at a great cost. If they iterated on the design, made it prettier, and got picked up by a bigger manufacturer that could build a guitar around it it'd be a nice selling point. The thought of requiring a tool and careful manipulation to change tunings and possibly strings is a shame, though.

is it me or did that bridge just suck the tone out of those guitars? BTW it looks like there is a different bridge for the Gibson that just remove the stopbar and bridge, but man the tone in those demo videos was terrible.
