I've been casually looking for a replacement for my 2012 Tahoe. It's sitting with about 85,000 miles, it's mechanically sound and if the dealer is to be believed one of *the* cleanest trade-in's they've had in some time. (Actually, he's right. It is in excellent condition) I haven't purchased a new vehicle in 25 years, always preowned.

I did start looking at used trucks but the prices are ridiculous. For example; This dealer has a 2015 Tahoe LTZ (Same as my white truck pictured below) with 47,667 miles for $42,489. For another $2,600 I was in a 2018 with zero miles and full warranty, etc. Granted, the new truck is an LS which is a few steps below the LTZ on the option level, but the LS is still nicely equipped. I'm pretty sure I can manage without a DVD player, heated/cooled seats and whatnot.

    I pick it up Tuesday.

Why are you dumping your Tahoe so fast?

I was thinking about driving it another year but that's going to put me over 100,000 miles and tank the trade in value. Besides. I'm tired of it.

I would have opted for the heated seats, but I live in Michigan too so...

    Congrats!

I'm Minnesota. Never turned them on to be honest. By the time they heated up the truck was getting warm.

I've had two Escalades. An '05 and '09. The '09 was particularly nice.

    Ride in very capable style!

Dude, I turn my seats on all the time. Leather seats? Mine are like sitting on cold stones in the winter up here.

Who cares about trade in value. I have a 2002 F-150 with 160K I have been driving it since 2004. It's been paid for since 2009. I haven't had a payment for 9 years. There's my value. Driving the same truck for 14 yrs. Who needs the payments these day. I'm driving this still it goes to the graveyard.

I have a 2001 Tahoe with the opposite problem. The cabin heater doesn’t start actually getting warm until about halfway through my 25 mile commute, while the seats heat up in about 2 minutes. So they’re my only source of heat for the first 15 minutes or so when it’s cold out.
