Spotted this on eBay from Music Ground. Slash's 1988 Gibson Les Paul Standard for $40,000 (£25,000)
"The instrument was one of Slash's main tour guitars from 1988 -1993, this instrument carries full written verification from band's business manager, Gibson plus various photographic evidence."

Could it be real???? I'm going to email them for more pics...

How can a guitar that is supposed to be one of his main touring guitars for their most active period (88-93) be that clean looking?

It may have been owned by Slash, but I don't think it was a main gigging guitar. Those ones are well documented.

Music Ground have a great reputation for selling authentic genuine "pro" owned gear - NOT!

Am I right in thinking something looks off about this guitar?

Shouldn't the knobs be exactly parallel with the neck?
And shouldn't the LP logo be closer to the high E tuner?

if you look at the pics, the knobs go off at an angle and the LP logo looks way too high on the headstock.

    you beat me to it...

the reputation of this dealer is such that even if it was the guitar he recorded everything with and slept with to keep it safe you couldnt trust what musicground say - their currently I believe about to go on trial for handlnig stolen guitars, and have a habit of creating vintage amps and guitars...

Theres been a couple of leftys I looked at recently but couldnt buy them as couldnt trust them to be what they were advertised as..

Holy hell! I had my eye on that, just to see what it did go for but I didn't think it would be that high. The way I saw it, the estimate was way too low to begin with, considering a Aged AFD goes for 10k+ and this one was better and had been played by Slash on a huge gig.

I emailed the group asking for a high-res picture of it...I'll see if I can find it.
