The R8 has more clarity when set to the same settings...
I was wondering if a faber bridge with titanium saddles would help with the slash anaconda, what do you guys think?

I think if you spend several k on a guitar, it should be just right for you without modifications or what is the point?

Well unfortunately some guitars aren’t available to play in person before purchasing.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a great guitar just a little darker than I prefer

Are the pups different? Change one thing at a time so you know how it affects the tone. The R8 definitely sounds better to me as well.

May seem obvious, but have you tried adjusting the neck pickup height?

That assumes everybody wants the same thing, has the same value to money, plus a host of others.

Everybody buys for their own reasons and expectations. Don't make the mistake of imposing yours on others.

When someone posts "what do you guys think?" Who's values do you suggest I use to form my answer about what I think?

I am slightly amused by the question as to my ears through headphones the Anaconda absolutely nails the Slash type sound and the R8 has more PAF type treble

So basically both guitars sound great and do exactly what they are meant to

They both rock in their own way. I'd leave it alone, variety is the spice of life. Nailed that solo btw!!

Actually answering the question in the OP rather than speculating on the reasons people might choose guitars in the first place would be a good place to start.

OP - there are two ways to go here.....you can try and make the two the same. Or you can make the two play to the strengths they innately possess. If one is thicker tonally it probably does the harder songs better. But we don't know if your pickups are the same.....or the electrics either.

Yep the anaconda definitely nails the Slash tone closer than the R8 in this clip. If its the Slash tone your looking for I'd leave it as is.

I think the differences are what make each of them unique and interesting. Also comparing them at the same settings is good to hear the differences for that setting, but the best setting for each guitar is likely to be different. Consider doing a comparison that way, which is more practical application.

I fully agree with what has been already mentioned. The anaconda "nails" the slash tone whilst the R8 is a great PAF tone. If you can keep both you now have two totally different, yet valid tools in your shed. Making the anaconda sound like the R8 is like taking the tint off of your sunglasses in order to brighten things up a bit.

BTW, is the HM R8 finished in gloss ebony? Looks like it. Way cool and I'm way jelly. What's the story on this guitar. Year, what package did you go with; pleased with results.

What's he neck shape/shoulders like on the anaconda?

I think that you are feeling more comfortably playing the R8 than the Anaconda... And that shows in the playing and in the sound.

    100%
I don’t play the anaconda at all.
    The r8 is my #1

The neck on the anaconda is larger.
Kim at HM carved the r8 neck and it’s basically a 59 now

this might sound obvious... but have you try changing the settings on your amps and/or pedals according to the strength/weakness of the individual guitar?
