You got it..Creamy, smooth, fat...great for a bright or stiff guitar. The Epi SG was a little boring/generic....but once I put these babys in, it's like getting a new guitar. I'm lovin' it.....:dude:

To my ear. . . the Skatterbane's add complexity and dimension to the mids in the overdriven clips. Very nice. I think the same thing is happening in the clean clips, but it manifests a bit different. There is this beautiful bell-like chime going on with the Skatterbrane's. It's very intoxicating to listen to.

Tell us more about the guitar and amp.

    Thanks for posting. :dude:

Yeah, they have a really musical response to playing, like they would somehow know in advance what you want to achieve and then they help you do that.

The guitar is a lacquer finished MIJ Epiphone Les Paul Junior. I actually didn't use an amp on these clips (sacrilege, I know), but ran the guitar's signal into a DI box, through a TL Audio tube pre-amp then used IK Multimedia Amplitube 2 to shape the sound. I first thought I'll mic up my amp and record that as well, but the pickups respond exactly the same through the ampsim software, so I didn't bother.

The more I play my PRS Soapbar with the Firebrane's, the more impressed I become. The tone is great, but what has impressed me most is how well it creates different responses depending on what attack you use.

No amp, using IK Multimedia Amplitube 2 VST plug-in. Guitar signal goes: DI > TL Audio tube preamp > Sapphire Pro 10 > Cubase. When I play the guitar through my amp (Bugera 6260 combo) the pickup responds the same as in Amplitube 2, so I thought I'd just use the ampsim for my clips, then.

    Thanks though!

The metalbranes sound awesome. I like the bridge in particular. Did you have the tone knob rolled back when you were doing the neck riffing at the start? It seemed to be brighter later in the clip when you did the clean demo.

    Great playing.
