I have several prototype winds that I'm calling done as they pass my own personal tone testing (not an easy task!). I'm going to offer ten sets overall of any of my winds for people to get and test out. They'll be built on bobbins of your choice, new winds with new materials...you just pick the winds. They also carry the same warranty/guarantee and offer for free exchange to another set if you're not happy with them within 30 days. As an added bonus, anyone who can do up a sweet video of good quality for me to use as promo will get further incentives! More details can be discussed if that comes to pass ;)

    Prices:
Uncovered sets in any color combo = $160 USD Shipped to Can/USA
Covered sets in Raw or Polished Nickel = $180 USD Shipped to Can/USA

Regular pricing is $220 bare and $250 with covers

    So far, I have the "Bluesman US68" set; inspired by the Bloomfield/Kooper/Stills Super Session album;
    Bluesman US68:
    - PAF Inspired voice; medium output
    - Sand cast A4 Magnets custom charged for enhanced clarity
    - 42 AWG Plain Enamel wire
    - vintage braided hookup wire
    - 7.7k Neck / 8.2k Bridge
    - no potting

Some Reviews: Caretaker : Steinmetzify : pablofunk

    Skydancers
80's rock inspired; G'N'R, Ratt, Cinderella, AC/DC, KISS
    - A2 Magnets
    - Modern wind and coil pattern
    - vintage braided hookup wire (4 conductor optional)
    - ~7.7k Neck / ~8.4k Bridge

Get ready to shake your hair out, squeeze into those leathers and rock the arena! Power ballads, tight pants and power chords unite for a wall of sound unmatched by any other era of music. Were talking about pure energy and hedonism, parties that went on for days and groupies en masse! That swaying wall of lighters and pile of bras on the stage is for you.

    Berserkers
Hard Rock/Metal inspired; Metallica, BLS, Sabbath, Pantera
    - A5 Magnets
    - Modern wind and coil pattern
    - vintage braided hookup wire (4 conductor optional)
    - ~8.1k Neck / ~10.2k Bridge

Heavy, aggressive decapitators of the weak. The Berserkers can play nice with your guitar knobs dialed down but they love a high dose of volume and gain. They're clear and angry, persistent and will be heard when they speak. Get ready to swing your battle axe with wicked intentions and crush anything that gets in your way. Power pop boy bands will quiver as you walk by; you are the Berserker. Time to get Wylde!

    Hellhounds
    Neck
    ~ 9.2k | A6 mag (or C8)
Fat and scooped sounding with a tight bottom, can get a good woof with the tone turned down but no mud to be heard. Hairy, punchy and aggressive but not over the top. Surprising clarity!

    Bridge
    ~ 19.2k | A9 mag (or C8)
The warmth of Alnico, the punch of a ceramic but no brittleness or ice pick highs. Very tight bass and distinct EQ. Hugely responsive to volume changes and can give an incredible range of tones from jazzy and clear fingerpicking to all out screaming metal. Took some doing to get all that wire on the bobbins! **The bridge pickup is too fat and juicy to have a cover on it. It just...don't...fit!**

    '51 Tele
~7.6k Neck and Bridge. Snappy and vintage sounding with clarity and that good ol' Tele Twang! A3 magnets, brass baseplates. Wound to '51 specs.

and my newest as inspired by the Bluesbreakers with Clapton (Beano) album with a bit softer neck and hotter bridge featuring a different wind for more snap and growl than the previous set.
    Bluesman UK66:
    - Sand cast A4 Magnets slightly degaussed to get more vintage warmth
    - 42 AWG Plain Enamel wire
    - vintage braided hookup wire
    - 7.3k Neck / 8.6k Bridge
    - no potting

I've been asked several times if I have such and such wind in this or that color. Short answer is YES! These pickups are built to order with all new parts, not piles of used stuff collecting dust. I have everything on hand and don't do preorder on out of stock stuff.

My current lead time is ~5 days now for a shipped/tracked package to go out the door...slightly higher than my initial 2 day lead when I started but still reasonable I think :)

The price in the Top Post is also my ongoing MLP member price, repeat customers are finding further 'loyalty' discounts.

Going to announce a new wind, they were a one shot custom set but I really liked the sound and need to wind myself a set now as well!
They're called 'Jeff's Dirty Little Secret' and if you read his full review you'll understand :)

    Neck ~8k / Bridge ~7.8k
Magnets are a special blend A5 to get the right punch and balance.

Jeff did a little clip that was linked further down on his review. It's in the middle position and I'll relink it here. :thumb: He recorded it with his Smart Phone, not sure which kind but I think it sounds not too shabby for a phone!

I'll be offering some of the pickups with a vintage wire option. I recently scored a small amount of vintage 60's AWG 42 wire from a hometown electric motor rewinder who had a spool in his storage shed. I was able to salvage a couple lbs from it so it's in limited supply and I got it free for testing so there's no premium upcharge. He had a whole lot of other stuff in there and next time I'm back up that way I'm going to bug him to let me dig around :)

Tonewise it's a bit different than my modern stuff... I did a few sets with it and the overall tone was deeper and a bit more open sounding. Very cool stuff (to my ears).

So let me know what set you want and I'll let you know if it's doable. I use a few different gauges of wire on some and only have the one gauge in vintage so can't do the really hot ones (Hellhounds and 1/2 the Berserkers)

Your pickups sounded wonderful in that clip. :applause:

Do you only sell sets or would you sell individual pickups?

They sure did.. I was cleaning out my closet while I had the video playing. The only time it caught my attention and I actually turned my head to look at the screen was when they played The Bluesman.

Still waiting on a decent demo of the Berserkers doing some convincing Sabbath. If they sound close, consider a set sold.
