Epis from France. My first has been the LP, then I bought the korean Sheraton II and two month ago came the Korina bass.
The Sheraton is definitely a great instrument in my opinion, surely the best value for the money kind of 6-strings; the flying V bass is also very interesting (please note that I'm a newbie bass player).
I only wish I had some of the gorgeous guitars in here. Sweet collections, all around. I only have my on LP, so far. Great idea, Peter!
One question: I counted a few Thunderbirds, but not a single Epi Firebird. That is next on my list. So, is there no love for the F-bird or are they just that rare?
You guys are a whole bucket full of awesome!
In my case it's just been bad timing, I haven't seen one for sale locally at a good price, when I had any disposable dosh. Would snap one up if I found one at the right price and right time. Would be nice to have a sister for my Thunderbird.
A few weeks ago I got overbid by 1
Good to know. I'm playing the waiting game here, too. There's a sweet SB FB vii here that's just calling my name... but waiting on the cash... Wouldn't they look sweet together? Kind of like Peter's black collection...
Epiphone Firebird VII Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst w Hardshell Case | eBay
Wow, first time I notice the prices in the US are higher than here...
there is another Firebird VII in red for $850...
the black one I missed went for 351 / $ 395
Yep. But better than the Gibby 1963 that comes up a few lines below for USD 27,900! They are pricey, but oh so pretty... I figure I'll do well under $700 but am hoping for under $500. I only see new Epi FB studios going for that. The VII's are worth the extra for me. I want the 3 mini HBs so I don't have to get a strat.
I need it.
My workhorse Epi V.
My new-to-me SG:
My new SG G-400. The pics don't really do justice to how nice it looks, the finish looks washed out in the pics. I've had it about two weeks and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites to play.
$44 Special from Guitard Center
I took out the 17k humbuckers (SAY WHAT?) that were in there and put in GFS Mean 90's (with covers removed) Rotary 3 way switch...great little airplane guitar
My 1966 G-400 Pro now with GFS Memphis Retrotrons, Xtrem, and stacked passive treble/bass eq per pickup.
I hope this sends you OCD types running for the Purel and Epi Polish.
I'm actually refitting this guitar as we speak to use again. I might even clean it.
(In all fairness, it has been sitting, dormant at the rehearsal space for a few years.
It was used for many years in punk clubs and college frat houses with no case. I made a couple of those tuning pegs out of quik steel on a saturday afternoon van ride to U Conn after a friday night mishap at Lehigh .
Ok, back to our daily program of polishing and pontificating.
My S310 I got yesterday, I'm part of the Epiphone family now
Beautiful!!! I hope you play some Judas Priest songs on it . String through body Vs are a personal favorite of mine.
