My current main amp (HT40):
here's one I got from H back in '86
this is a '64 AC30 TB with an all solid pine (except for the baffle) cab that I made last summer. It's loaded with two early Kendrick Black Frame Speakers from '91.
Ah, come on!!!! You had to go and post a Dumble! I am unworthy!
here's a "before" shot of my '74 Traynor YBA2
and here is the "after" shot installed in a head cab that I made two summers ago with this Baltic Birch 1x15 cab
You must play a complimentary Henry Kaiser tune.
I just listened to that video of your Wraith amp with the guy playing slide through it. That amp sounded as good as anything I've heard, let's face it. it was extremely fat, sweet, and musical. I absolutely was very impressed. I'm sure that you are proud, as you should be.
I also loved the looks of your amps, just awesome. I'm glad I saw your post.
here is my 2012 Welagen 50 watt 6L6 Overdrive Special on top of my Matses 1x12 Baltic Birch cab loaded with an Eminence Cannabis Rex.
Thank you for the kind words. That's high praise coming from a Dumble owner.
There are three things I look for in an amp: tone, quality, and beauty. I've tried to maximize each with my designs and builds.
You're not far from me. Perhaps someday you can demo some of my amps.
No offense to anyone, but I'd MUCH prefer a Soul Tramp to a Dumble anyday. Even if I had a kabillion dollars. I just think they sound better (based only on videos and sound clips. Never heard either in person).
In what town are you?
Each summer I go on vacation in Vermont but maybe I could plan a vacation around a test drive!
Probably not most peoples cup of tea here but here is my pride and joy...
It started life off as a Champ 600 that I sent to Boothill Amps and had modded into a 5F1. I fried the transformer in return fried a few internal bits. I sent it off to Muchxs to have it fixed and he built a killer cab for it as well. It has an old Mexican made 6x9 in it right now that is just stellar in the little amp. I have an 8" baffle as well for it but I told Muchxs he wasted his time building it because that 6x9 is never leaving it.
I got a big brother to it coming here in the next couple of weeks.
I live on Little Sebago lake in the town of Gray.
Single ended 10 watt V2 built and modded Phaez Daisycutter...
"This one has the Attitude knob to fine-tune the overdrive and dual-stage master volumes (labeled Master and Scale) for a wide range of tones."
The amp is quiet in part because of the following:
- shielded or twisted wires
- separate filter cap for each gain stage (no cross talk)
- layout: no long wires from filter caps to gain stages
- galactic grounding scheme
- elevated DC heater wiring (elevated to ~70Vdc)
Triode/Pentode switch. Gorgeous cleans and mean distortion.

How did yoy do that nickb boy? that tolex is amazing!
Haha, I cheated and Daniel from Salvage Custom kindly offered to do it. It's their black lacquered tweed. Going to be filled with a Satellite Amps Barracuda. Can't wait!
I agree that tolex job is about as best as I've seen it! I tried tolexing once and it looked like a drunk gorilla had sex with the cab.
