^^^^ I forgot to mention that it is a Fujigen-manufactured Roland GR-500 analogue guitar synth:thumb:

Quite a fat neck on this one!

Yeah, quite the control panel on that one! It can be thought of as a bunch of knobs and switches with a guitar attached to them.

It actually is a really beautiful and well made guitar. Sounds great... Though a bit dark sounding. It kinda has a Peter Gabriel "Digging in the dirt" sound to me.

For all the wood cut out of it to accommodate the electronics, it sure hasn't relieved any weight... This thing weighs a lot!

I rarely play it "plugged in" since it is required to go through the synth part using the unwieldy 24 pin cable... But I do enjoy playing it unplugged because it feels great to play it.

As a synth, it works very well. Tracks perfectly. All analogue unlike the g707 (which I also have)... The g707 is IMHO unusable as a synth since the tracking is so poor, but the gr500 is a completely different beast... Older and better technology!

The g707 is good as a guitar and has the benefit of a standard 1/4" jack in addition to the 24 pin synth cable... I just hate the shape because it slides off of my leg when I play it sitting down... The same reason I couldn't deal with a Flying V :)

Part of me wants to mod the gr500 with a 1/4" Jack, but I hate to modify any vintage gear... Especially in ways that are irreversible.

    Wulfman....

In that animated footer - are those guitars you currently have to offer, or just lovely guitars that have passed through your hands? Because I'd swear one of those is the one I now have, but it changes too fast for me to be sure. Not that I mind. On the contrary, I'd be pleased to see it feature there.

They are old ones from before 2012. Yours is indeed in that GIF, a lovely Greco with the coolest top. I haven't sold any guitars since last year.

Ah that Greco is so cool. I probably wouldn't get on with the neck anymore but it had mojo for days.
