Should I buy a used Epi LP Custom where someone poorly removed the paint at the top of neck for $170?

Only reason I didn't buy it today was because I just spent some cash on recording gear. If it is still there next week, I might cave in

Go for it. I missed a new Squier CV Tele Thinline for 1/3 off because I didn't go look today, and it's not listed now. With a mahogany body I thought it would look good with a proper Gibson TV yellow finish and maybe a Bigsby. C'est la vie.

If fixing it up is something you enjoy, then get it. If not, than no way.

    Do It !!!!

I almost always regret not doing it later.

Are you Insane? Errr, nevermind.... Seriously now, can you test play it before you buy? Could be a diamond in the rough, may not be...

I've played it. It is pretty good except for the neck issue. I'd fine sandpaper to make it a little smoother.

If it is still there tomorrow, I'll buy it. Eventually put P94s in it.

A good player guitar that looks a little rough is a great thing :thumb:

It's a 170 bucks, kinda a no brainer, don't you think? And some 400 grit sand paper can fix a lot of sins.

    I got it.

Before I pulled the trigger, I did notice that there was probably a break at one point. But I played the crap out of it, and found no issues with the repair job. For the price, can't complain. I'm guessing it's from the '90s. I'll post some better pictures later.

They had a bolt-on neck LP lawsuit for twice as much, it couldn't hold a candle to this guitar. Eventually I'll put some P94s or something in it.

If you're still thinkin' of P94s, Duncan Phat Cats will get the P90 sound. I just got an Epi (Inspired By) 1955 Custom. The stock Gibson P90s kick arse :cool2:
