The next part of my home studio will be drum software. I was going to purchase EZ drummer, but came across MT Power Drum Kit which is free. Would EZ drummer be worth the $100+ or would MT work just as well?

The difference is the quality of the samples, what you can do with them and how real they sound. Based on that, EZdrummer far outshines MT. Once you have mastered EZ (which can take forever for some) you can always upgrade to superior for even more options. You won’t be disappointed.

EZ is the schniznit, IMHO. Now, having said that, I went on to Superior drummer because of the ultimate flexibility that I have but EZ isn't hard to figure out (I have never read any "how to's", I just play with it). And I have been using the EZ/Superior platform since EZ came out.

I have been using MT Power Drummer 2 for about 5 months now and really like it. I’m not a pro but it sounds good in my opinion. It’s also easy to use.
