I've wanted a DJ guard for long long time. Finally, MGL and DJ decided to sell DJ's guards and I jumped right on a vintage-cut aged PG as soon as I could. It's better than I imagined. The aging is absolutely perfect. Beautiful discoloration around the neck pickup cutout, lots of little scratches and dings. It looks like a masterpiece. Really brings the relicing together.

Capturing all the intricate details of the guard was difficult because the sun was intense. I'll post more pics with better lighting later on. Up next is a pair of VH cream rings.

    It's the standard "aged" version.

Looks awesome!! Wow. The Shanks guitars are stunners and your is included.

Mark's has a sick Shanks in stock right now. On my last visit it was the best guitar he had in my opinion. I didn't play all of his stock but that one was my favorite. Stunningly good sounds and the neck was extremely accurate.

I guess I'm in the minority. I don't see how a pick guard would get that random of a scratch pattern on it. I can't remember ever seeing a Burst, whether in person, in a book, or on the internet that had that beat up of a guard??????? I'm sure these cost a small fortune, as well.

Thanks!! Agreed. The Shanks is one of best and most consistent CC runs, yet somehow it's still underrated. The neck has deeply sloped shoulders similar to those of the THs. I'm pretty happy with mine.

Maybe, maybe not. I wanted something that looks good, and this looks fantastic to me. It wasn't a small fortune. Very reasonable actually. I especially like the pic below. Keep in mind, I tweaked the contrast a bit to highlight the relic work. The sun was so intense that morning that it was nearly impossible to capture all guard's details.

Heavy aged Wizz rings. I have a pair of bone aged VH rings that are a tad darker.
