SG Junior and Special questions

    I would put more stock in Kris' evaluation than the serial number, but in case you're wondering, that serial does check out as being a '69 as well.

    Just to throw it out there... I don't find a ton of added utility in SG Specials vs. Juniors b/c the pickups are so close together. A single-cut LP Special, with the neck pickup right up against the fretboard gives a pretty broad range of tones b/w pickups, but the neck pickup is so far towards the bridge on SGs that the difference b/w the two is pretty subtle. Maybe if the bridge pickup was closer to the bridge it'd be different, but they're almost more like two different "middle" pickups. Nothing wrong with them, just saying I wouldn't pay much of a premium for the extra pickup.
