I shot this on Sunday afternoon,
thought I would post it here....Good Pickups !!
Nice video! I have a set in my 2014 Traditional. I'm pretty sure I'm well past the honeymoon phase and still love them. Just incredible pickups.
Wow, very nice demo!
I have had a set of these installed in one of my LPs since they were first released. I wouldn't trade them for anything else.
Very nice indeed!
Have a pair in my GT Classic, best HBs I have.
I have the original SD / Bonamassa set in a high quality LP copy and I love them. I wonder what the differences are with the Skinner set? They sound great, but so do my original set.
I had two sets! I had preordered a set and got #25 of 1,959, then I ordered another set that special ordered to be a little hotter, SD also put the covers I wanted on them (Throwbak's) I sent the set in....MJ was a little curious as to why and I explained to her the whole pickup cover shape thing....they were like "whatever" Ok....
Sound wise, I thought they sounded amazing, but tastes changed....by memory comparison the First set of JBs were very similar to Antiquities....the sets I had were very detailed and the notes were clear.
The Skinners have a different feel....they are thinner, but not by much, the neck pickup is very powerful.....they are similar....the first JB set was better balanced between the neck and bridge...
Well done. Thank you
I have both sets also and I agree the Magellan set (first set) sounded much like Ants with their weakened magnets. They also were better balanced between neck and bridge. However, I found the Magellan set thinner and weaker than the Skinner set. I ended up ditching the Magellan neck in my 335 and replacing it with a stock Magellan bridge. I then put a fully charged short A5 in a stock Magellan bridge and used that for the bridge position. That setup is killer in my 335! Notably, aside from using Throbak covers, I feel no urge to change anything about the Skinners in my CC4.
