I have stock electronics in my 2006 R9.
My volume pots are noisy/scratching, the tone controls are not very functional, so I am considering to modify all the electronics.
I have the old version of RS kit (with Jensen) in another Les Paul, I really liked the change.
Now it seems RS has another kit for LP, with some RS branded caps. Called "Pre-Wired Premium Vintage/Modern Upgrade Kit - Short Shaft"

Anyone tried these, and how are they compared to the old version? Alternatives?

You'll achieve the same results. If you like the harness in your other LP then go with RS again. I can also recommend ReWind harness's as being the beez neez. I had James wire up a harness for my 335 and the results are fantastic.

RS makes some good stuff, but for Historics I like "The 59" wiring harness by Jonesy.
Great quality CTS 550k pots, correct taper and luxe bees.

If you can solder, get your own pots and caps then you'll save a bundle of cash too. Lots of suppliers out there for the parts.
