I love Rock the Cashah, it's funky and very musical, was it them selling out? Don't care, I like it and that's all that matters. Matter of fact yesterday Rock The Casbah led me on Youtube to the London Calling album, haven't heard it in years. And LC lead me back to the Sex Pistols NMTB LP, that's all I could take though, now that I'm old and into disco! Wee DISCO! Well you can tell by the way I walk I'm a women's man no time to talk.

I'm late to the thread, so naturally, the four that I always cite whenever I think of this have already been mentioned.

"Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" (rhythm section is undeniable, IMO)
    "Trampled Under Foot"
"I Was Made for Loving You"
    "Miss You"

Yeah, I had a Was (Not Was) CD, the one with 'Walk the Dinosaur' and it had an Ozzy dance track. I can only remember it as fucking awful.

Not exactly a "rock" band, but The Four Seasons made a comeback in '75 with "Oh What A Night!".... late December back in '63, what a very special time for me, what a lady..what a night.......

there is a lot of cheesy disco for sure. but how about one of the baddest rhythm guitar motherfuchers to ever strap one on? he wrote and played on more hits than you have pairs of socks...

I remember that song as a kid, it kind of resides in the Billy Don't Be A Hero, The Night Chicago Died category.

Most post-punk bands of the late 70s/early 80s took the ever present pounding four-on-floor and 16th-note high-hats of disco, and combined them with droning guitars to create the foundation for a lot of future new wave and college/goth/alternative rock.

I always think Stephen Morris (Joy Division/New Order) sounds like he's drumming to some Bee Gees song.
