Thanks man! I don't have to tell you how awesome Roman's work is! This ain't your grandpas junior! It's very versatile.

Glad to be a part of the club.

One thing I love about these guitars is the shape of the headstock. Most guitars inspired by a Gibson design, to me lack the style and appeal of an open book headstock. To me, this surpasses it! Testifying to Roman's artistry. :applause:

Thanks man! I hope to get more clips and photos soon. I agreed that if you have a good p90 it will be one of your favorite pickups!

So you have an Electric City Pickups P90?
I belive the stock pickup now is Wolftone (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
What model ECP, Tone E Montana? And what made you chose that over Wolftone?

I have had a couple different P90 winds in my Workhorse. Currently I have a really low wind in there around 6K. It sounds really cool for the vintage blues I play. My amp is a little on the dark side and I needed a little bit brighter pickup. I wound it myself with the a lot of help from a very talented pickup winder friend of mind.

The first pickup Roman put in my Workhorse was one of the WB pickups which was about 12K. I then had another wound at about 8k. I have also done some experimenting with magnets including mixing different magnets in the same pickup. I like the standard Alnico 5 the best. Bottom line, the guitar is going to sound great with any pickup he puts in it. The rest is just subtle personal preference differences.

Wolftone winds some great pickups and I do believe Roman is using him now for his P90's. That is great because if you get them and they are too hot, or not hot enough, Wolftone will rewind them for you free of charge. I took Wolftone up on the offer. The orginal humbuckers in my Rist Showhorse were just a little too hot for me and Wolftone nailed the tone I wanted on the rewind. Wolftone pickups are as good as anything out there and better than most.

+1 on Wolfetone. That's what I have in the bridge of my Workhorse II, and it's a great, articulate rock / blues pickup. If you are getting a single P90 Workhorse, I say Wolfe is the man. Another option -- I have a Thorn GT90 in the neck slot of mine, and it's also a really cool pickup. Worth considering.

I settled eventually on a 'vintage' wound Shed P90 - covers everything I need it for from jazz to indi to rock... The WB I actually liked but was just too hot for me, just traded it for an autowah..:)
