Ok, lets give away some gear! It's been a while since I've done a proper giveaway here so let's do the biggest one yet!

    The rules are simple:

    * Be an MLP member with a join date prior to today (03-01-2016)
    * Make a post in this thread that contains the following:
---- A photo of your rig and/or a video of you playing your rig
---- A list of your basic signal chain gear (pickups, guitar, gain stages, amp, speakers, cab)
---- A brief description of what you like and don’t like about your sound and what you would like to hear more and/or less of from your gear

    * One entry-post per member will be counted
    * Posts with only photos of member’s rigs earn 1 entry
    * Posts including videos of members playing their rigs earn 2 entries
    * At the end of the giveaway 3 winners will be selected

The prizes are badass! For each of the 3 winners:

Based on their entry post, I will build and provide whatever combination of pickups and/or electronics I think will best take their guitar in the direction of their sonic goals. Each winner will have their own 100% custom ReWind Electric guitar electronics system, tailored just to their personal guitar, rig, ears and heart. Winners are responsible for the installation.

So, if you have a million guitars and amps you’ll need to pick just one guitar and an amp or three for the entry post. Also, please don’t enter with gear that you are likely going to sell, trade, smash or burn before the end of the giveaway. That would be difficult for everyone.

Here’s some eye candy to wet your whistles:

Well, I've already got your pickups in two guitars and have another set waiting for a guitar, so as nice as the offer is, I'm covered in tonal bliss already, thanks in no small part to your winding efforts.

Good luck to all who enter, the winners are going to be blown away.

btw - I realize I don't have an end date listed for this, yet. I'd like to wait just a bit and see how the entries flow in. I'm not sure what to expect, as far as time/volume. I don't want it to go on for a painfully long time, but I want to give everyone a chance to put their vids and posts together. I will definitely announce an end date though, and I will do so with at least a week of a warning time.

    [IMG]Awesome idea!!

    Guitar:
Right now I'm using a 2011 R8 Stinger, originally one of the Don Felder guitars. I swap pickups too often, but right now it has a set of Wizz's in it.

    Pedals:
I don't really like pedals, but sometimes they're fun. My board has an old EHX deluxe memory man, landgraff dynamic overdrive, and a klon KTR.

    Amps:
I really like to run stereo. Usually a 1961 ampeg reverberocket (6V6) and a blackface super reverb. Ampeg dirty, super reverb clean(ish). Celestion Gold in the ampeg and original CTS alnicos in the super reverb.

I'm reasonably happy with the tones right now, but I'm finding more "fizz" than I would like. Not sure exactly where it's coming from, but I'm thinking about a pickup swap and maybe new tone caps.

    Guitars:
heavily modified Gibson Marauder; 80s Greco LP (heavily modified); home built LP with my own touches and mods; Taylor 410; Harmony archtop...plus harps, and other odd ball stuff...half of which are in pieces. I'm always messing with this stuff. Ain't nothin stock...My goal is to buy cheap guitars and make em sound and play great.

    Amps:
Mesa Lonestar Classic 212; 70s Fender Vibrolux; Blackheart combo and a few other small things

    Pedals:
VFE Blues King; Analogman King of Tone; Line 6 Leslie simulator plus occasionally Boss CE-1 chorus, TS-10, Joyo British sound and a few others

Greco in use and Marauder on the drum riser stand...

What I like/don't like about my rig:
I like the fact that it is personalized. Everything is adapted and messed with...nothing stock. It's all me. On the other hand, I sometimes struggle to find my sound. I hear it in my head...been chasing it all my life. I'm close...just not there all the way. Part of the issue are the pickups I have settled for. I have one set of handwounds...but they lack something. The rest are freebies or cheapies from ebay. I work to make em sound good and I think I do (get lots of compliments on my sound and tone)...but there's a missing piece, especially on the bridge where I am 80% of the time.

Home brewed JMP 50 marshall heads through either 2 or 4x12 cabs. Sometimes a jubilee.
    Pedals I like KOT mostly...
Guitars are Thorn and Kauer with Planet waves cables, and scumback and greertone speakers. Also some homebrewed teles and a Paul Reed Smith

I could use a little less strident highs on some stuff...so I run open back. Love the crunchy 'david grissom like' tones I run.

OK, so I have this thing (stock pic since mine is currently in pieces):

[IMG]MJTTelemaster by Scott Steinmetz, on Flickr

I basically threw some BKP Tele set in there, because I got it in trade and know nothing about Tele pickups....it's a Piledriver set, and they're WAY too hot for the stuff I want to use this guitar for, and since I have a hacked together wiring harness I had to use what I had, which are 500k pots. Alder guitar, BKPs and 500k pots, you can assume this guitar is super bright and hot.

Most of the time I'm playing into an AxeFXII and don't really have issues as that's a completely sculptable tone no matter what, but they're still too hot for most of the blues type stuff I want to do with this guitar.

25% of the time I'm playing into this:

[IMG]Bandit by Scott Steinmetz, on Flickr

SS Peavey Bandit Transtube...I play at home and take it to jams, mostly because it's again, sculptable, and I can use it at home at low volumes.

Basically I need a lower output Tele set and harness. I'm taking lessons for bluesier type things in standard tuning, which I haven't played in for years.

So either way, whether I win or don't, I'll probably be hitting you up for some Tele pickups and a harness, as I really want something warmer and sweeter, not so hot and in my face. The brightness makes me cringe playing this guitar, on whatever I choose to use it for, so it doesn't get played much, and is pretty much why it's in pieces now. I've thought about trying a rosewood neck to see if that would make a difference instead of the maple board that's on there now.

Anyway, cool idea for a giveaway, and good luck to everyone!

Thanks James....people like you make MLP better than a lot of other places.

Rewinds already live in my other Humbucker guitars (Creme Brulee and Medium Outputs), but not in this guy:

The Goldie has Duncan '59's and I like 'em. Can you improve on that?
The amp situation is in a bit of a flux, but here's the major players:

No pedals live here, and I don't plan to go down that treacherous road.

Blues/Jazz and some '70's rock are the things I attempt to play. No clip of said efforts will be forthcoming. :)

^ If anyone here has one of my still-unofficial "JDB" (hot dark bridge, clean bright neck) pickup sets, that is the actual darkburst that they were originally designed for. The photos don't do it justice. It's got beautiful grain, great finish checking in a lateral pattern and is one of the best feeling LPs I've played, Bursts and such included.
