In todays world? Absolutely, if they don't have a record of this type behavior.

Without experience in either the military or emergency services I wouldn't necessarily expect some people to understand

Dude it's ALWAYS a lawsuit waiting to happen. Almost any public interaction can result in a lawsuit nowadays, regardless of whether it's founded or not.

“ Some people should not be cops”...., how true this is..... unfortunately the process of weeding those individuals out has the opposite effect.... it seems to fine tune people with less empathy to be more aggressive.... who would you want for a patrol partner.... Clint Eastwood or Mr Rodgers? It is very unfortunate that this crap happens.... but this is the world we live in. We can only react to the situation and only hope to prevent them. I most certainly do not approve of this kind of crap....

It seemed like the cop ignored the fact that he was hung up on the seatbelt. The guy didn't have a chance to comply.

He was stalling getting out of the car. He became tangled after they grabbed him. Was a poor choice not to comply and to argue that he 'dint do nothin'.

Agreed. It appears the officer escalated to force prematurely and it went downhill from there.

But I agree the guy was stalling like Dun stated

Wow, watched the video in full. That is appalling. And all in front of the kids who were obviously traumatized by it all too.
I cannot understand how the cop only got suspended for 3 days over this. There was no need for all of that. All those cops and 11 tazers? Really? And he was not even driving.

They say in the video that the passenger was correct, he didn't need to show ID as he was not the driver and didn't do anything wrong. He may have looked suspicious at one point but I have not seen anything about this case that states he was hiding anything. He spent a couple of months in jail as he could not afford bail. All charges dropped when it went to court.
Shit, no wonder he is pissed and taking this further, so would I!

It ain't a couple bad apples... Its the fucking barrel.
Back in the day cops were the friendly guys who helped, got your cat outta the tree, protected us.

Nowadays Id have little sympathy if I heard any of these piggies got smoked in the line.

My opinion of course, it's worth nothing

    It states:
Arizona's version of a "stop and identify" law makes it a crime "to fail or refuse to state the person's true full name on request of a peace officer" so long as that officer has reasonable suspicion to detain that person and has informed them of the law requiring the person's true name.

What suspicon was there? He was not the driver.
When he started to comply and said he was getting it from backpack even though he couldn't understand under what grounds , he was told not to.

    And there is this:
This is a crime only when you have been lawfully detained, however, and you still can't be randomly approached by a police officer, without reasonable suspicion, and be required to identify yourself.

They had no authority to order him out of the car in the first place. Unless they had an articulable suspicion of evidence of a crime (they didn't), or he posed a threat (he didn't), they haven't a leg to stand on.

I’m pretty sure there’s never been an era when there weren’t any bad cops. And I’m also pretty sure that not everything is reported. It’s probably better now since every swingin dick is carrying a camera phone, but “back in the day”, I imagine it was “my word against yours”, and that was probably used on the types that the locals wanted run off.
I could be wrong about all of this, of course, and “how much” or “how often” likely varies pretty widely.

$50 says that cop initially pulled down the victim's pants to tongue punch the chocolate starfish, then realized his cops buddies where there and had no alternative but to taze his nut sac. I just got off the phone with my super gay friend and he said a man tazing another man's nuts is still gay, even if you close your eyes, his words not mine.

BTW how do you spell taze?

After tazing his balls, he also placed the tazer on his pecker and pretty much told him "Just give me a reason". Methinks Mr tough guy officer is awfully fond of fondling balls and shaft. I mean, you can literally taze someone anywhere and it is effectively going to incapacitate them. Why would you even consider pulling their shorts down and tazing their dick and balls?
