probably wrong forum but does anyone recommend a decent win based recording program for guitar. I'll be using a POD XT for guitar, bass and use canned drums. Very amateur level, just want to try it out a little. It seems like line6 sells one for $99 that would mesh well with the POD but I have no idea???

    Any help is appreciated..

There are alot of them about unfortunately and some very complicated. I used to use Cakewalks guitar tracks seems they do a pro version, the one i had goes back a few years but worked fine at the time.

    Here is a link

    Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 3

I also use a pod xt and if i was gonna go down the pc recording route then i would look at the line 6 software, kind of makes sense. I recently looked at an imac which comes with garageband, if only they did this for a pc then we would all be recording, very simple and fantastic, probably my next purchase.

For the record the professionals use Protools, never used it myself though.

    Hope this helps

I use Logic studio, the best IMO! Simple interface but super-powerful!
