OK where dose the cap go. Seymour duxam has it center post on the tone pot and ground to the tone pot. I see wiring diagrams that has it center post tone pot and input volume pot. Others have it center post tone and center post volume.
    Which is the right one

I can't see what you are looking at, but a tone cap needs to be hooked to the hot, or signal, lead of the pickup it is working for.

It can be connected to where the pickup lead is soldered to the volume pot. That's fairly common.

On the other end it usually connects to the center post of the tone pot.

One outer leg of the tone pot is then soldered to its own case for grounding.

Wrong leg grounded results in tone pot working backwards. Just unsolder wrong leg from tone pot casing and solder the other one if this happens.

Tone cap works by siphoning off the higher frequencies to ground. Tone pot controls how much ground is available to the cap.

    That's it...

They are both correct, but go about it in 2 different ways.

Electrically they do the same thing, but one has the signal going to the cap then to ground, the other has the signal going through the pot first then the cap to ground.

Electricity doesn't care since it flows through the whole chain on its way to ground either way.

    Hope that made sense...

Correct. As DarrellV said, electricity doesn't care.

Components connected in series can be put in any order, and all the signal will "see" when going through that path is the total opposition to its flow to ground, which is the total impedance, i.e. the resulting sum of those oppositions, no matter the arrangement.

Same boat here. I've used the same technique before. The days without the Like Button were dark ones for MLP.

I still get notifications when I'm quoted though, have been getting them since the interface change, but not everyone replies using the button.
