I've got a 2015 MIM Stratocaster...I'm sure many of you guys have seen pics of it, (God knows I've posted quite a few :)). It's a really nice Strat...I've owned a few Strats in my day, (all USA) and this one plays and sounds the best of them all to me.

Ok, so here is my question...the color...what color is it??

It looks to me like Olympic White, but Olympic White is a USA line color. The MIM white is Arctic White, that's more of a pure white. Maybe it's my eyes and I just can't discern the difference. But I once compared it side to side with a USA Jeff Beck Strat and I could not tell the difference! It's hard to tell from pictures but I'll post a couple anyway.

What do yoy guys think?...............I know this is NOT a very important thread or even an interesting one. But I'm bored this afternoon and have nothing else to do! :D

I'm going to say Arctic White cause thats what it is, being a MIM.

Google Arctic White vs Olympic White and see the millions of forum threads from all over discussing the subject. Funny thing is there is no real consensus. One guy says Arctic is "whiter", the other says Olypic is "whiter. One guy says one yellows, the other says one gets more cream than yellow.

In my personal opinion from experience Arctic White is more white. Olymic is more of that creamy vintage looking white. But you could find 100 people to argue that with. :)

In fact here is an Olympic White Deluxe on our own Classifieds. I've always thought they were more creamy looking.

    Thanks @Crotch....

I'm sure you're right. Logically it has to be. I didn't realize there are so many opinions on the shade of these whites. I agree with you, to me Arctic White is a pure white, very bright. Olympic white is like an off-white, kind of creamy. Mine just doesn't look like a bright white!

If it wasn't a 2015 I would say possibly it faded a little over time but it is too new to have done that.

When I saw it I immediately thought Olympic White.
One of my favorite Strat colors.

    Very nice!
Put some proper (Vintage type non-noise canceling wiring) pickups on it ASAP!
    :D

    No, no, no @Bobby Mahogany....

...I've been playing Strats since 1979 and this is the first Stratocaster I've had with noiseless pickups, and I love them!! It use to drive me nuts dealing with the single coil hum, I hate it!! I don't care that I lose a slight, very slight loss of vintage tone with noiseless pickups. They're QUIET....very QUIET, and they sound GREAT!! At least the Jeff Beck Noiseless do!!

    I'll never go back! :D

Jimi Hendrix would laugh at you!

    Just a joke.
I like the raw tone of the "vintage" pickups.
I own a 57RI and a '62RI with "noisefull" pickups and they sound astouding.
    That's the tone for me.

    I hate everything noise cancelling.
I hate the weak tone of the noise canceling position (2 and 4 with the mid pup reverse polarity).
    I hate noiseless pickups.
I even hate Eric Clapton. :p
    I liked him until 1974.
But he doesn't know so there's no harm in that.
    :D

    I hate Gibson's P-100.
    I love P-90's.

I'll grant you this...if I had Vintage Strats like those, I wouldn't change out the pickups. :thumb:

    Sunburst is a '57.
That Olympic White aging is "natural".

    Here's my 1997 '57RI I don't play often enough.
And it shows 'cause it's so "too nice".
    :(
    I've gotta beat it up!
