    Real nice board Boston!

As promised here are two more of the 70!:naughty:

The one on the left is closer in production to yours, the one on the right is mine. Ralph Perucci also told me when the EPA came in PRS had just finished an ALL Braz Private Stock, cost the buyer $20k. Because it wasn't shipped yet EPA would not allow it out the door so PRS had to refund the $20k! Somewhere in the PRS wearhouse is an ALL Brazillian axe languishing away. :(

I'm hooking up with a cat who also has one of the 70 this weekend when he goes to pick up his new "AL D". If I meet him at his house I will get a photo of his McKorina as well.:thumb:

All I play now are PRS guitars. It took me a LONG time to "get" them, but now that I do - I LOVE them!!

HAHAHA, probably, but it WAS at the top - so I posted ;)

Oh, and by "get" I mean understand PRS' place - was it Gibson-esque, etc.

mmd, you need to check out a 594 (if you haven't already). They're pretty killer.

Let's try this now that PhotoBucket wants to dick around:

This is my only PRS, a 25th Anniversary Santana in Angry Larry. Funny story about the color. Apparently PRS had a manager named Larry who would turn this color when angry. :rofl:Regardless, what I like about the 25th that makes it unique for PRS is the neck. This has a fat, 24.5" scale neck but with a 10" radius. It feels like an old SG. This is a 10-Top and even came with the boss' signature on the control cavity cover.

I did a few mods to it to make it work better for me:

    1) Added push-pull pots to achieve split coil operation for both pups.
    2) Replaced stock pups with Bare Knuckles Abraxas set. The BKs solved the muddy neck and the bridge rocks now.
    3) Replaced tone cap with .015 PIO NOS Russian.

Other than that, it is an exceptional instrument that I wish I played more. PRS makes a fine guitar!

Yeah, I was really pumped to try one because the 594 seems to have taken the PRS world by storm. People really rave about them. When I was buying what ended up being my P22 I played a couple 594s. Surprisingly, I didn't bond with either. I could probably "grow" into it, but for the price of $4000+ I felt it needed to be INSTANT love, you know?

I'd probably be more down with a SC594 - part of my problem was the singlecut control configuration on a double cut body. Visually it bothered me, lol. Playing-wise, the neck felt great, but I kept missing the pick-up selector!! Also, not a fan of the pickups (blasphemy, I know). At that price point I am not changing ANYHING - that guitar better be PERFECT. I am a 57/08 guy all the way. All my PRS' - minus the old Custom 22s and the SC250 - have the 57/08 pickups. I am considering putting 57/08s in the two CU22s - even though I am ok with the Dragon IIs.

I figure I'll try one again when the time comes to buy a new PRS - I might just be a weirdo, lol. With it being such a popular model I am probably missing something.

I know what you mean about instant bonding. It took me a few weeks to bond with my CU22, and that was more the neck shape, as I had been used to the pattern thin on my CU24.

As far as pickups, the CU22 has 57/08s, and I can't remember what my CU24 has (I think 59/09s). I wasn't sure if I'd like the 58/15s, but they sound really good to me, especially with the coil splitting options.

I traded a couple of guitars for my 594, and I'm really GASing for an SC594. I just don't have the wiggle room right now, as I don't want to let go of any of the guitars I have, and no one is buying my tube amps. I guess I'll see what happens later this year.

    Forgot to add the pic:

Thanks! It's the faded whale blue. It looks even better in person.
