    Awesome Score Dicemang!!!:thumb:

    Like em' don't cha?:D

A buddy of mine just dropped me an email asking me to go with him to pick up his PRS "AL D" next week as it's finally arriving. This is the cat I went down to PRS with last Sept. The same cat I thought Paul Reed Smith was going to "deck" when he kept at him about selling him one of the AL D prototypes.:laugh2:

I personally have my eye on the Johnny Hiland and Dave Grisome models, maybe a nice Custom 24 for good measure.:naughty:

Enjoy your new PRS and welcome to the club!:thumb:

Well, not quite in the club, but getting a small taste of it anyways! I'm thinking of selling off my AR15 to fund a PRS. It may happen. ;)

Those Al De's are pretty sweet - I'd have to see one in person, though. I could either love it or hate it in person.

The GAS is hitting me even harder now that I have the budget model - that thing really rips! I don't like the tuners or the bridge (which started flaking chrome off when I was adjusting intonation) - but I'm not about to upgrade them (which would cost more than I paid for the guitar!). Time to start saving! :D

How do you like adjusting the inonation on that wrap around bidge?
    No saddles! hehe

They do rip and I love the wide/fast neck... sweet!

Yeah the AL D model is hidious if you ask me, looks like a rainbow got sick all over a perfectly good axe!:laugh2:
I did see an AL D with a Quilt Top down at the PRS factory... somehow that wasn't as bad to look at!:laugh2:

When you step up (hope its sooner rather than later), make sure you do it right. If I'm willing to spend $3k on an LP I can easily say I am willing to spend the same for a PRS. :thumb:

Nothing like selling guns for guitars... My father has an original Colt, and I have a Rock River. The Colt or any other I've shot don't hold a candle to the RR.
    Sorry to hijack!

Some sweet PRS' here! I want either an SE or Epiphone for Christmas...

Hemp - I may get in with a used CE sooner rather than later, and hold off for a Custom22 as a law school graduation gift to myself in another couple years. ;) I've seen CE's for like 8-900 from time to time.

JCM - I've got a DPMS full stock lower with an AP4 upper (M4 w/ detach handle & rail) and a 7.62x39 bullbarrel upper w/ floating heatshield - high rise optics only, and a bunch of 30rnd mags. I figure that the whole setup is worth about $1400-1500 new - $1k-ish as is. I'm hoping that I can find someone locally who has a PRS lying around and wants to trade.

    I LOVE IT!!!:laugh2:

I remember your AR15 from the "How do you protect your LP" thread some time ago, sweet peice! You should have no problem finding a trade for a CE... or you could just TAKE the CE!:laugh2:

;) It would be tough to part with the rifle, but I really don't shoot it that often as it is.

Might be worth something in a few years once they're outlawed...

Hmmm while I don't know the serial number on your McCarty you may have something VERY SPECIAL there Boston!

The deal goes like this... Gibson upset they couldn't get anywhere with a lawsuit against PRS for using the Korina/Braz combo (which is the combo used on the original Flying V's and Explorers) decided to call their contacts at the EPA and questioned PRS's supply of Brazillian Rosewood. EPA goes into PRS and SHUTS DOWN production using Braz. At that time PRS was producing the McCarty's w/ Braz then they had to stop, but, they had already shipped out 70 McCarty Korinas w/ Braz in Vintage Natural finish to dealers and they couldn't be recalled... that means there are only 70 of them out there with the Braz board in that finish.

I got a phone call from Ralph Perucci he's the cat that does most of the PUPs for PRS and he told me about the "situation" regarding these 70 McCarty's in Vintage Nat. He gave me a list of serial #'s and told me any Vintage Nat w/ Braz in that serial sequence was one of the 70. I did a little search and found 6 of them... got 6 buddies together and we snapped them all up (what we could find).

If you want you can PM your Serial # to me and I can have it checked out to see if you have one of the 70?

Even so this will be a long term investment.. not many people know about this little story involving PRS the EPA and Gibson. But I got the inside info directly form Ralph P. who incidentally bought one himself!:thumb:

PS I switched out my switch tip too, the white one just wasn't cutting it!:laugh2:

But, to add to the PRS porn collection, I leave you with this thread. As some select MLPers will attest, I will give you an outrageous price on whatever you want.

AAARGGGHH!!! Those play so nice dude. You're killing me. I gotta buy me some cheapies first to tool around on, another amp ($400 and under), and recording stuff. So at this rate we'll see around tax time if I'm feeling like an animal.
