    Hi.

I would say the neck profile is a C shape. The original description of the neck from the Precision Guitar Kits website was:

    - 12″radius fretboard
    - 50′s style baseball bat neck profile
    - Neck thickness JR baseball cut

I only have a bathroom scale for weighing, but using that I estimate the weight to be about 6.5 pounds with just the tuners and bridge installed (no other hardware).

    Joe

Thanks I appreciate the reply. So even all together with pickups it should still be under 8 lbs., which is good imho. Anything over 8 lbs. for a simple slab body is too heavy imo.

I may move my SG to pick this one up....if it's still available. Thanks again.

Yes, this guitar would have great weight once built up. I'm sorry that I won't be able to do it myself. Hope if finds a good home.

@deadlyweasel Love the green single cut in your link! Nice work. This one could be playable in mere hours, only some assembly required :)

Does this have a holly veneer on the headstock? The headstock looks like it's a bit different proportions than a vintage Gibson. (or is it just the distortion created by the photo angle?)

@bblooz In terms of holly veneer, are you referring to the face of the headstock? If so, I'm not able to say either way because it was painted gloss black when I received it. As for the overall headstock shape, yes, I would agree that it is different than that of a vintage Gibson. The "waist" of the headstock is a little slimmer than an actual Gibson. I'm assuming this minor variance is Precision Guitar Kit's way of avoiding trademark issues with Gibson? Thanks for your interest!
