    In LaCrosse WI this morning.

Wifey and I are making the hour+ trip to the guitar shrine of the upper midwest. Been there several times and if you can do it in a day drive it's so worth it.

Anyways... prayers for my wallet please as she's looking to cure her GAS.

You wife gets GAS? And wants to go to a guitar store?

Haven't your prayers already been answered?

Dude, if your wife likes guitars and gear, bow down and throw cash at her!

She likes mandolins which the greatest guitar store in the upper midwest carries. (Daves)

    Which isn't so bad.

At least she understands my "problem"
now vs. a few years back when she didn't play and didn't get it.

It's cut into the guitar budget but....

It makes it ALOT easier when a new guitar comes home now that she has the bug.

Just got home with a nice used MIA Breedlove Spirit mandolin

She admitted it's been haunting her since she played it a few months back.

    Merry Christmas baby.

Wonderful gift for her, mate. I'm glad you two share a love of music. My wife just can't get into music, but she understands it's important to me so that's more than good enough! :applause:

You're a lucky man. My wife has gas but it has nothing to do with gear.

A post I started on another forum awhile back asked, "does your other half get it?"

Referring to music and/or gear addiction.

Mixed answers as expected but it's sure easier when both like music even if tastes are different.

welcome to the forum. you might need more than prayers. :D I've been to Dave's. even met him and visited a while. I was impressed that his acoustic room was as big as the electric guitar department. so, he has a lot to choose from to say the least. again, welcome to the forum.

My wife "gets it" and encourages my GAS usually. She's committed to the radio as the only music she wants to play, but loves how playing reduces my stress levels

Was in there last weekend right after they opened and wife was sitting on a chair checking out a used Breedlove mandolin.

I was off checking out some guitar stuff and saw Dave meander through the acoustic section.

Later wifey tells me he said good morning to her and not knowing who he was casually telling him she really liked the mando and it was probably following her home.

The stranger to her casually mentioned tell them you know Dave and they'll cut you a deal, then winked and went through a door to the back room.

When I walked back over she asked if that was Dave?

    Why yes it was.

Good guy, great store and one Breedlove mandolin later they have a new fan.

yep, Dave is pretty nice. I was upstairs when I met him. we were talking about the collection of guitars and amps that were on display at the time.

Little over an hour south in WI.

Yep, the upstairs is amazing. Worth the trip on its own if a person is a serious gear head.

We were up there last year and thought wifey could use a reality check of how "cheap" the stuff is downstairs.

Standing next to a few Gibson V's on the wall I pointed at one and asked what it's current value was.

"Oh...they're going between $400,000 to $600,000 at auctions depending on the day and buyer mood."

    She got real quiet.

I'm here in the "Twin Cities".

I was talking to Dave about the Les Paul Deluxes. I have a '75 Deluxe.

I'd like to ask him a few questions.

Craziest wild goose chase for a so called "barn find".

Why no acoustics in his personal collection.
    (or Marshall and Vox amps)

Why no YT presence like Normans or Andertons?

    Inquiring minds want to know.
