    I used to be able to copy the youtube links to videos and it would embed. It doesn't work for me now. Can someone fill me in on the proper way to post vids? Here is a link for example to a Page Plant vid.

    Thanks!

    Forgive my technical ineptness. So when I tried removin the "a" from https, do inhale to paste the link somewhere other than the body of the message?

    From the URL remove only the "s"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJo5ieZeXcg

    All the rest, .com etc must stay (you removed that as well. Then it looks like this:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJo5ieZeXcg"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJo5ieZeXcg[/ame]

    Cool! Now where does the "watch?v=" part company come in? I typed it manually and it works along with taking the "S" and "." in youtu.be

    The watch?v= part is the command for loading the video and the letters/numbers after the = are the video name.

    I normally just open a video in youtube and then copy the complete URL, remove the s and that's it.

    So breaking it down in simplefied form:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHsXMglC9A

    HTTP = The "Hypertext Transfer Protocol" internet protocol
    www.youtube.com = self explenetary
    watch?v = command to load the video
    YQHsXMglC9A = the video name

    And if you want to be really cool and jump to a certain point in the video just add the following to the end of the URL :D

    "#t=*m*s" where the asterisks represent minutes and seconds respectively.

    I copy the links from my phone. When I click "copy link". It doesn't have the "watch?v=" in it. I know now to add it, but this is the link it copies.

    https://youtu.be/gJo5ieZeXcg.

    So why doesn't the link contain the ".com" and "watch" parts in the link?
