Yes they are Mackie HR 624 ( powered ). They does the job perfectly ( like the Focusrite ). I like them a lot.

The studio is a home studio in my private home " Woodstock " that I built in 2009. Musicfacilities took toppriority.
I usually start off with midi tracks and my wife and I add guitar, keyboards and vocals. We have a band that play " semi live " so I produce the backingtracks. It is great fun to also be the drummer and bassplayer and have some nice vocals for the chorous.
We also use the studio for my wifes business as a professionel songwriter of personal partysongs ( a big tradition here in Denmark eg at weddings and confirmations ).

Toshiba Satellite Laptop running Windows XP - had it since High School, but still running strong

Sony Acid Music Studio 8 - very basic but works for me

CAD U1 USB microphone - cheap, but when tweaked and set up right, works surprisingly and wonderfully

I'm not too serious about home recording or anything. But let me tell ya, I've made some recordings that can definately hang with my buddy's real deal studio stuff.

2009 MacBook Pro 17" running Lion
    Apogee One
Logic Express 9 (Will upgrade to Pro sooner or later)
    GarageBand '11
Superior Drummer 2.0 + Metal Foundry
    EZDrummer

I also have basically every piece of software IK makes, but I'm not crazy about their stuff. Same thing with Steven Slate Drums. And I use my iPhone/iPad for musical purposes as well, which I think is really exciting. There is some really great stuff for iOS, Korg iMS-20 for example.

Main PC on the lower right; built it myself. It's actually time to upgrade as it's 4-5 years old now.

    Lian-Li case
    ASUS Mobo
    Intel Dual-Core E8400 CPU
    8 GB RAM
    4x 750GB SATA HDDs
    eVGA GeForce GTX275
    Razer Mamba mouse
    5.1 Creative speakers
    E-MU 1820m
    etc...

Have a 2nd PC on the left which is an older 2003 Shuttle.

I need some help please. I want to start recording at home. My plan was to play through the GigRig Pro 14, into an M-Audio box and finally into the PC running Pro Tools 8. The PC has been built and the only thing missing is the audio card. So here is the question. What is a good audio card to record with?

    PC rundown is this...

    Intel I7 2600 3.4Ghz
    ASUS P8Z68 Board
    2TB HD
    16GB DDR3 Ram
2GB 6970 PCIE GPU (OK so i play games as well)
    Running windows 7 Pro 64

    Any help is appreciated.

Jester, dont worry about audio card. the m audio box is your audio card. plug it in a usb and everything goes in and out of the box in terms of audio (headphones, i/o)

Got the PC setup in the living room for movies and what not... I also use it for emulators etc.

The PC is a Dell I built out of random parts ive acquired, the PC before it I had to switch on with a screwdriver on the PWR pins.

Connected to a newish (to me) Samsung TV.

Two PS2s, one running linux the other for gaming
PS3 - which doesn't get used all that much
Xbox - XBMC, which I'm flogging
    SEGA Master System
    SEGA genesis and Sega CD.
    Gamecube

The Dog is running a dual core Pentium, but as you can see she's crashed at the moment.
