As soon as spring finds it's way home... we'll be placing an order for one of these Amish Shed's. The one pictured has more options than I'll be ordering. I can't buy the materials for a 12'x16' shed for anyway near the cost that the Amish company will build and deliver one that matches our house no less (matching siding). It's a win/win - moves my music workshop out of the house and my wife gets the guest room back - and I get a dedicated work area studio.

Plan is to have it operational by early summer, wired, insulated, and sound proofed. It's great to see everyones home studios to get ideas for how to build out the new shed (err Studio).

As long as it works, I'll be happy.

Edit: I don't mean to make light, of all the awesome setups in this thread. Wish I had the money and most of all the talent, to take advantage, of such studios. Much respect for you all.

We had our first rehearsal last night in the new facility. It was -12 degrees Celsius outside but warm and toasty inside. We played through about a dozen tunes....mainly blowing out the cobwebs. It was a lot of fun....not a serious rehearsal at all. More like just the guys getting together and having a good time. We broke out some champagne to celebrate the new place....it's something we never ever do at a proper rehearsal....we usually just stick to crack.

    Joking! :laugh2:

Anyway, check out the place! The wall treatment is still not finished but yeah the room sounded very very good!

Maybe the heat from all those keyboards produce enough to heat the building? :)

Cleaned up the basement a bit to make room for the expanding collection. :)

EDIT: Realizing now that I haven't posted any recent pictures of the "studio" side of the studio. ;)

EEE lad! when we w't kids, we were so poor we didn't 'av no recording studio. We 'ad to make a tape recorder out of an old kettle, and record sitting in a trench in't back yard.

Damn, what a great time we had at rehearsal last night. I love being in a band where everyone is a good musician and the only thing you have to worry about is yourself!
The night before last the keyboard player and the singer came over to my house. The singer wrote a song and we fleshed out a rough arrangement upstairs on my baby grand with me on acoustic guitar. It was a treat to write that way....stripped down....you just make a song work, nothing to hide behind!

Anyway, last night we put it together with the band and the ideas were flowing like honey. I was so impressed with our drummer. The guy is a natural born producer.....amazing musical arrangement ideas (even though he is the youngest, he was in a band produced by the legendary Daniel Lanois! so something may have rubbed off)

Afterwards we sat around and drank some bourbon....:naughty: and had some laughs.

The singer then announces "I was at the grocery store and I bought special gifts for all you guys"....and he pulled out 4 packages of this:

Holy Sh*t....we were dying laughing! good times :)
