    Looks better OFF.
    Plays better ON.
So when I go to the club to see YOU play, I expect to see your pickguard OFF.
But when I play, it's ON.
    Double standard.

Yeah, that's what I did with mine and just kept the original in the case.

Wel, I guess so, but the ones I have seen so far do not match it 100 %. Now the PG color matches the pickup rings, pokerchip and binding exactly. I have a couple of spare cream pickguards, but they are a tad too light. I’ll keep looking, but buying one off the internet isn’t easy, because you never know if the color will match if you can’t actually try it on. I suppose age is a factor here (although it’s not older than from 2011), but I don’t really know.

That’s really what I want to do as well, but I haven’t found an exact color match yet.

I - ummm - yea. How about this. Top wrap for a month with the guard off and see how it sounds. Now put it back on and reverse the top wrap. Now take it off again and top wrap again. Do that enough times and the pick guard screw holes should be stripped out. Problem solved!

You could always change out the rings (maybe to the Historic height) and the pickguard with stuff from the same company (e.g., Creamtone, etc.).

On in even weeks, off in odd weeks :D
Looks great with or without. What do you feel is more comfortable when you play?

I always let the guitars decide.....:laugh2:

Okay now,seriously.... I tend to like the guards on GTs. Not so much with Winos. I like the guard on my R8....so,Yaaaa,on or off. Just depends I guess.

I have 2 M2M R8's that specifically said "no pickguards" on. They're in the cases though.

I take mine off for functionality

It allows me to securely anchor my little finger against the bottom of the bridge pup ring

Took the pick guard off of my 335 as well

Can go either way regarding looks

    YMMV

Yes. Need someplace for my pinky - it likes sitting on it.
