    That was quick!!!!!

"The 5E3 circuit is still intact except for 3 things:
    1. SS rectification, lessens the flubbing out typical in a standard Deluxe
    2. Coupling cap size lowered a hair to again prevent bass flubbing
    3. Much better output transformer, just gives it a more solid, big sound.

Will have to get clips up one of these days, maybe just with my iphone.

    Thanks - RandyF"

I've had this 18 watt Phaez "blackface DNA" head for about a year. I just un-boxed it and have it paired with a just-finished 4 x 6.5" cab. You'd never know by listening that it has such wee little speakers in it.

Are you having one made? I want to hear one before I buy it. I loved my AFD, but was sorely disappointed in my Asheville.

Yes, I commissioned it 2 or 3 weeks ago. I asked for EL 34 amp with a modern gain sound. I said Friedman as a reference. Coincidentally, he just started working on a PT20 circuit. So the end result will basically be a mix between a PT20 and a BE100.

FYI. For Phaez owners that have the OT10SE output transformers who like to try out different octal tubes. Due to the different impedance ratios of various tubes, I have found - when using an EL34, use the 8 ohm out into a 4 ohm cab or 16 ohm out into an 8 ohm cab.

Not much activity in the merged Phaez thread these days. Anyway, I noticed that there is a 10W Daisycutter for sale on craigslist (in Bellingham, WA, which is just across the border). I am pretty sure this is the first of two custom Daisycutters that I built back when Randy was offering kits. Just thought I'd provide a public service announcement. Here is the link:

Hey guys, been away from the forum for a long time. I came across a clip of my old Phaez JTM18 and couldn't believe how good it sounded. Does anyone in this thread own it now? It had a plexiglass front panel, so you could see the tubes. A "Plexi" switch and a "Mod" switch. 2xEL84s, no effects loop. I would love to buy it back from whoever owns it now...shoot me a PM! This was it:
