Mouse I'm not in the market for a set of pickups, but when I am I'll be coming to you. I love the attack on the front of the notes.

    Nice clip Cloud9r!

Here's a 91 Gibson Les Paul Standard modded exactly like Peter Green's guitar. It's only out of phase when I solo.

Dude are you sure this is you playing? If so, you have got the version that Larry Corsa plays down pat, and I mean, even replicating the fret buzz he gets....... check out your track at 21seconds and the LC vid at 58 seconds. It is exactly the same.

Or are you in fact Larry Corsa in disguise? I think not, the section you mark as being out of phase, it actually not out of phase, the pickups in the guitar Larry is playing are standard.

I used the LC vid to try and learn this song.

This is my version, not nearly as good as his......

Do you think it is likely that PG used a treble boost?
I've been looking into buying one recently and the tone these things make, especially when through a Fender Tweed and a Les Paul, sounds very similar to some of PG's really driven tones. Especially the solo in the Otis Spann track I linked to above.

It is a mega album, but remember, there are at least three tracks on it which Danny Kirwin solo's on (and not PG). Kirwin's tone is in my opinion just a good a PG's.

I would like to know if there are more of these sessions albums where FM backed other blues artists :hmm:

From Blues Jam in Chicago (which I think is a selection of many of the sessions that FM did at the time)

Peter Green also played on Pete Barden's album The Answer/Vintage '69. He is uncredited though. The playing is similar to his playing on his solo album End Of The Game. Lots of wah.

End Of The Game is also a must if you're a hardcore Green fan. If you can find it, the Heavy Heart single is also killer. Yeah, there's actually 2 different albums from those sessions - I and II. Some of it's really good, some not so much... Danny Kirwan + creepy little slide guy (Jeremy Spencer) were there, as in the whole band made the trip to Chicago. Elmore James' Sax player was there (can't remember his name) and from the liner not it seems that Spencer all most soiled himself - as he was obviously an Elmore James fanatic.

I have that Eddie Boyd album. Some of it's pretty good, but it's repetitive - lots a shuffles, lots a shuffles in the key of D, lots a shuffles in the key of D at the same tempo...

I recall seeing pics of Green with BB King in what looked like a recording studio, but have never been able to find any info... ah, here it is - with Duster Bennett also.

I have a few tunes with Green and Bennett - I don't recall a second guitar player on them or where they came from. I'll have to check them out again.

    Hi All,

Just wanted to pop back in to this thread and say THANK YOU for the music recommendations... I picked up the first three Fleetwood Mac albums, and now my world is a little brighter with the guitar playing of Peter Green in it! :thumb:

Black Magic Woman is THE clasic out of phase tone that PG used.
The Supernatural is all bridge, cranked through a Marshall.

Here's a cool vid of the Green burst in a action. "dueling" guitars @ around 4 min 20 secs. Both can play pretty alright.
